  3. 'It is the most Cinderella like story'published at 19:40 British Summer Time 25 August

Women's Open champion Lydia Ko, speaking to Sky Sports: "It is surreal. Winning the gold medal in Paris a few weeks ago was almost too good to be true. Heading into the weekend I thought 'how is it possible for me to win the Open'.

"It is the most Cinderella like story these past two weeks. This is almost too good to be true. Out of all the major championships this was the one I had the least amount of confidence in.

"To be holding this trophy now, it is some achievement.

"I thought to myself because of the last few weeks it is not going to happen. So don't overreact and play the shot in front of you. My two goals were to par the 11th and birdie the 18th, I achieved both. This is such a special place.

"All my achievements are special, even the silver and bronze at the Olympics. I always said I wanted to win another major championship. Here I am now as a three-time major champion."

  7. Ko impresses againpublished at 19:18 British Summer Time 25 August

If you sink a tough putt on the last, you deserve a major!

When it matter Lydia Ko stepped up and delivered. She is now crying and hugging her caddie.

She shot a three under 69 today, that's how you do it on a Sunday.

  8. Postpublished at 19:14 British Summer Time 25 August

    Vu -6 (73)

Lilia Vu's head is gone as she now misses her par putt. A sad end for the defending champion.

  9. Ko wins the Openpublished at 19:11 British Summer Time 25 August

    Vu -6 (73)

It's going to be downhill, left-to-right. A real tricky one.

Lilia Vu has left it short!

Lydia Ko has won the Women's Open, the Olympic champion now has her third major.

  10. Postpublished at 19:10 British Summer Time 25 August

    Shin -4, Vu -6 (17)

Lilia Vu walks up to the green to see what she has to hit. Back to her bag now she goes. My word, the nerves she must be feeling.

A few practice swings, here we go.

She pushes it a little bit. It is a chance, but it would be serious scenes now.

I'd say 15 feet from the hole.

  11. Postpublished at 19:03 British Summer Time 25 August

    Shin -4, Vu -6 (17)

This is it. Nail this shot and Lilia Vu gives herself a great chance. Meanwhile, Lydia Ko is still on the putting green, with a view of the 18th green.

    Will she watch?

Maybe that is why she didn't go to the driving range as it is a bit of a walk away.

  12. Postpublished at 19:02 British Summer Time 25 August

    Shin -4, Vu -6 (17)

Lilia Vu melts her driver down the fairway. A nice bounce off the road too for some extra yards.

  13. Vu needs to birdie the lastpublished at 19:00 British Summer Time 25 August

    Shin -4, Vu -6 (17)

Lilia Vu clutches up with a five-footer. Onto the last we go!

A birdie is now needed to force a play-off.

  14. Postpublished at 18:56 British Summer Time 25 August

    Shin -5, Vu -6 (16)

A big ask for Lilia Vu to sink that one from 30 feet. She now has a testing five-footer. It is needed to keep her hopes alive.

Jiyai Shin misses her long putt for par. That's her all but out of it!

  15. Postpublished at 18:51 British Summer Time 25 August

    Shin -5, Vu -6 (16)

Lilia Vu finds the green and will have a chance with a long putt. The best about at long putts remember...

Lydia Ko is out on the putting green. Play-off anyone?

  16. Korda finishes on five underpublished at 18:47 British Summer Time 25 August

    Korda -5 (72)

Nelly Korda flies the ball in aggressively, but it is not to be. She had to go for it. It may be only Lilia Vu who can stop Lydia Ko now.

It's a nice putt and a par to finish.

  17. Can Vu do it?published at 18:44 British Summer Time 25 August

    Shin -5, Vu -6 (16)

Lilia Vu smashes a perfect driver. Would you rather be in the clubhouse or chasing at this stage? She knows what she has to do.

Must go for it now, one shot back with two to play.

  18. Korda bogeys 17thpublished at 18:41 British Summer Time 25 August

    Korda -5 (17)

The worst possible time for Nelly Korda to drop a shot. Her 15-footer for par comes up short and now she falls behind.

It is now eagle or bust!

  19. Ko sets clubhouse targetpublished at 18:40 British Summer Time 25 August

    Ko -7 (69), Pano -1 (74)

Alexa Pano is up first with her birdie putt on the 18th. Her ball stays on the green and that's a two-over 74 to finish.

Over to Lydia Ko. Huge putt. It's maybe six feet at most. Left-to-right. The downhill slider... ball on it's way... tracking... and IN.

A smile and a wave to the crowd. That's a three-under 69 to close for the Olympic champion.

Is that the winning putt for the 27-year-old who won the last of her two majors in 2016?

  20. Shin drops to five underpublished at 18:39 British Summer Time 25 August

    Shin -5, Vu -6 (15)

Jiyai Shin drops to five under. She made a mess of that first putt and that could be her chances over.
