A lot of people were expecting Lottie Woad to lead the British charge at Royal Porthcawl but Mimi Rhodes is taking that role right now.

    Korda -1, Jutanugarn +1, Yin -1 (15)

Lottie Woad seems fairly content after rolling in a putt at the 16th to secure par. The 21-year-old Englishwoman smiles and chats to her caddie.

By contrast, Lilia Vu has a face like thunder.

A double bogey for Vu, who was troubled by the bunker, sees her go back to two over.

    Rhodes -3 (12)

It's quite a congested leaderboard at the moment but the only British player within two shots of the lead is England's Mimi Rhodes.

The 23-year-old has already won three times on the LET this year.

Making her Women's Open debut, she is three under through 12 holes - helped by an eagle three on the par-five ninth.

  6. Korda saves par on 14thpublished at 17:28 British Summer Time 31 July

    Korda -1, Jutanugarn +2, Yin -2 (14)

World number one Nelly Korda gets herself into a spot of bother as she slams her drive into a bunker, and then underhits her rescue shot on the par-four 14th.

But her third shot, a chip onto the green, is immaculate, landing a couple of feet from the hole, and she easily tidies up for an eventful par.

Fellow American Angel Yin also saves par, with a tricky putt from about 10 feet that just drops in.

There’s a nice setup here around the 17th hole.

The crowds horseshoe around the back of the green, there are some tables and chairs, food and drink stalls, and the sun is shining - bliss.

Wales’ Darcey Harry gets the crowd going as she drains a long birdie putt to move back to two under for the day with one to play.

England’s Georgia Hall, meanwhile, drops a shot and moves back to one under par.

Anyone choosing to follow this three-ball around Royal Porthcawl today will have got their money's worth.

Rio Takeda birdies the par-five 18th to join fellow Japanese player Eri Okayama in the lead at five under par.

Miyu Yamashita will sign for a four-under-par round of 68 after a par at the last.

Their playing partner, Patty Tavatanakit of Thailand, went round in a one-under-par 71.

    Korda -1, Jutanugarn +1, Yin -2 (13)

About five or six feet left for birdie on the par-five 13th for Nelly Korda. But another chance slips by for the world number one! A little bit of break on that putt but it's one you think she should have holed.

Angel Yin gives her birdie putt a run from a bit further out, but it lips out and the American has to settle for par too.

Lottie Woad remains one over after missing a tough birdie putt on 13.

  16. Postpublished at 16:41 British Summer Time 31 July

    G Hall -2 (15)

BBC Sport Wales at Royal Porthcawl

It’s my second time on the 16th hole today and it’s my second time seeing a spectator hit by a ball.

This one was not a direct hit, Georgia Hall’s tee shot took a bounce and merely nudged a gentleman in the back as he braced for impact.

Perhaps I’ll give this hole a miss tomorrow, I’m clearly riding my luck.

    Ko E, Vu +1, Woad +1 (13)

Lottie Woad gets up to the green on the 13th with a chance for a birdie, but ultimately has to settle for par after two putts to remain one over.

Just two more holes left to go for Japan's Miyu Yamashita, whose long birdie putt on the 16th slides by the edge of the cup.
