    DeChambeau -7 (12)

Oh boy, magic from Bryson DeChambeau as he whistles his approach from the 14th fairway to the 13th green (go figure) and spins it to 14 feet.

He's given himself a decent look at birdie.

  2. Postpublished at 21:02 British Summer Time 12 April

    DeChambeau -7 (12)

Just seen a shot of Bryson DeChambeau lugging one of Augusta's iconic signposts over his shoulder.

I guess it was just in his way?

    Always an entertaining watch.

  3. Woods makes the weekendpublished at 21:01 British Summer Time 12 April

    Woods +1, Day +4, Homa -6 (18)

Woods visualises what he wants to do - and executes.

A heartfelt roar of support greets his ball hitting the can, leaving the five-time champion wearily grinning.

He's made the cut! That's despite barely playing competitively in the last year.

Woods will play the weekend for a 24th straight year - an outright record.

Playing partner Jason Day, however, faces an anxious wait after a bogey on the last.

  4. Postpublished at 21:00 British Summer Time 12 April

    Fox -3 (11)

Ryan Fox absolutely drills his second into the 11th but he can't control that and it zips through the green, although the thicker cut prevents his ball from finding a watery grave.

Still it getting up and down from there is easier said than done and he coughs up his first shot of the day.

  5. Postpublished at 21:00 British Summer Time 12 April

    DeChambeau -7 (12)

The juices are clearly flowing for Bryson DeChambeau after that fine birdie and he's creamed his drive down the par-five 13.

Don't know if he was trying to draw it but instead it's gone pinpoint straight into the thicket of pine trees.

He's deep in the undergrowth and chooses to go around the back of the patrons and into the heart of the fairway.

    Of the 14th hole.

    Taking the scenic route.

  6. Postpublished at 21:00 British Summer Time 12 April

    Woods +1, Day +3, Homa -6 (17)

Tiger Woods is ducking for cover!

More clouds of sand are lifted out of the bunker, and over the green by these gusty winds, as he tries to putt out for a very solid level-par 72.

Incredible scenes. But nothing which will faze a player of Woods' mental toughness...

  7. Homa misses birdie puttpublished at 20:56 British Summer Time 12 April

    Woods +1, Day +3, Homa -6 (17)

Very little has dropped for Max Homa with the putter in this second round - certainly nothing has on the back nine.

Perhaps conscious of the increasing winds, and the prospect of his ball being moved, Homa seems to rush his birdie putt and it slides right to left.

The 33-year-old American will stay second behind Bryson DeChambeau but takes the clubhouse lead after a one-under 71.

  8. Postpublished at 20:54 British Summer Time 12 April

    Woods +1, Day +3, Homa -6 (17)

This might not be vintage Woods, but he hasn't lost his touch around the greens - despite the lack of match practice.

A bit of magic with the wedge leaves him with a chance of a par.

  9. Postpublished at 20:52 British Summer Time 12 April

    Woods +1, Day +3, Homa -6 (17)

Woah! That wind is really getting up.

Sand is blown up from the bunker in front of the 18th green, creating a Sahara sandstorm effect. You don't want that in the eyes.

That happens just before Homa knocks his second out of the fairway bunker... what a hit! So clean.

Homa lands his ball just past the pin, using the contours to bring it down the hill and leave with a chance to finish with a birdie.

  10. Postpublished at 20:49 British Summer Time 12 April

    Woods +1, Day +3, Homa -6 (17)

Woods is just short of the bunker which Homa ended up in, but then pulls his second shot way left.

This is not the 15-time major winner at his vintage best, of course.

But, after barely playing after ankle surgery last year and all the things he has been through, the fact the 48-year-old is still competing at Augusta is a marvel.

  11. Postpublished at 20:45 British Summer Time 12 April

    Woods +1, Day +3, Homa -6 (17)

A long day for this star trio is finally coming to a close. One hole separates them from a slap-up meal in the clubhouse.

Woods, Homa and Day were out on the course at 7:50am local time, remember, to play five holes and finish their first rounds.

After a 40-minute turnaround they were starting their second rounds. So this is the 23rd of 23 holes today.

Homa seems to hit his drive well, but it ends in the bunker on the left of the fairway, perhaps after clipping the trees.

  12. Aberg continues to climbpublished at 20:45 British Summer Time 12 April

    Aberg -3, Spieth +8, Theegala +4 (16)

Could Ludvig Aberg get himself into the conversation as a possible winner here?

He has made phenomenal progress over the last 12 months and his laser-guided iron shots are just one part of a pretty handy all-around package.

The Swede zips his iron into 17 feet on the par three 16th and then knocks in a right-to-left birdie putt with bother at all.

  13. DeChambeau birdies 12 to take leadpublished at 20:43 British Summer Time 12 April

    DeChambeau -7 (12)

Outstanding recovery from Bryson DeChambeau who duly backs up his fine tee shot on 12 with a confident birdie putt.

    He's back in front.

  14. Postpublished at 20:41 British Summer Time 12 April

    Scheffler -6, McIlroy E, Schauffele E (6)

The touch of a maestro this time from Scottie Scheffler with his chip on the sixth rolling out to just a few inches from the hole - even the old Scheffler who couldn't putt doesn't miss those.

  15. Postpublished at 20:40 British Summer Time 12 April

    Aberg -2, Spieth +8, Theegala +4 (15)

After four birdies between the eighth and 13th holes, Ludvig Aberg's progress has slowed but he is still striking the ball beautifully and is unfortunate to see his birdie putt lip out on the 15th.

Jordan Spieth does claw a shot back although it looks very likely to be too little too late for the former champion.

  16. Latest leaderboardpublished at 20:38 British Summer Time 12 April

  17. Another par for Homapublished at 20:36 British Summer Time 12 April

    Woods +1, Day +3, Homa -6 (17)

With Bryson DeChambeau and Scottie Scheffler both dropping shots, this is Max Homa's chance to overtake them and lead the way again.

The birdie putt is about 20 feet away and there doesn't look to be loads of movement.

In keeping with his putting all day, Homa is measured and not overly aggressive. Not losing shots is the key for the 33-year-old American.

This putt drifts left but leaves him with a simple conversion for the par.

  18. Rahm coughs up another strokepublished at 20:34 British Summer Time 12 April

    Rahm +3, Fitzpatrick -2, Dunlap +8 (6)

Last time I looked Jon Rahm was lining up a long birdie putt on the sixth green but that goes racing past and he can't make the return to save his par.

Bogeys on the third and sixth. Not the start he'd have wanted at all.

  19. Postpublished at 20:33 British Summer Time 12 April

    DeChambeau -6 (11)

It's Golden Bell next for Bryson DeChambeau and he responds impeccably to dropped shot on 11 to flight his ball beautifully to seven feet at the 12th.

Given Scottie Scheffler's slip, DeChambeau could be out on his own again very soon.

  20. Ugly bogeyspublished at 20:32 British Summer Time 12 April

    Scheffler -6, McIlroy E, Schauffele E (5)

An ugly hole for Rory McIlroy, in the trees off the tee, short in two and then a horror chip dropping off the back of the green - he's lucky to escape with a bogey.

Scottie Scheffler under clubs his birdie putt that pulls up short, and then disaster strikes as his short par effort does a dreaded horseshoe and has a good look inside the hole before deciding to stay out.

After DeChambea's miss Scheffler held the outright lead for about 30 seconds, now he's got test of mentality to answer.
