    Rahm +3, Fitzpatrick -2, Dunlap +8 (9)

Jon Rahm looks like a bloke who has just come home from football training to be told his partner has eaten his tea and there's nowt in the fridge.

He looks exasperated as he slides his birdie putt right from seven or eight feet and remains at three over.

  2. Postpublished at 21:38 British Summer Time 12 April

    Scheffler -6, McIlroy +1, Schauffele E (8)

Big mistake again from Scottie Scheffler as he's a bit short in his approach to the ninth and has too much swazz on the ball so it spins back and tumbles off the steep slope at the front of the green and heads off miles away.

It's just a bit ropey from the world number one right now.

    Woods +1 (72)

We've been telling you it's windy out there.

Tiger Woods had to contend with this sandstorm on the 18th green before taking his final shot.

And he's almost got the record for most consecutive cuts made at the Masters.

There's still a very, very, very slim chance all of those behind him still out on the course will make a charge.

    Fox -2 (11)

Another shot disappears for Ryan Fox, who has now suffered back-to-back bogeys.

The New Zealander looked clearly surprised as his putt for par lipped out from three feet. He needs to regain his mojo pretty quickly here.

    DeChambeau -7 (14)

This was a bit earlier (21:02) when Bryson DeChambeau heaved an Augusta sign out of his way.

Probably not the done thing in this pristine corner of the golfing world.

To put it into context, only 10 players are under par today.

The warmer weather has firmed up the greens, while the stiff breeze is providing lots of food for thought.

  7. Postpublished at 21:30 British Summer Time 12 April

    Willett -4 (15)

Like Tiger Woods, we wondered how Danny Willett would hold up physically.

Willett, who memorably earned a shock Masters triumph in 2016, has not played since September after shoulder surgery.

    Almost seven months!

But the Englishman is playing confidently and cleanly as he tries to cement his place on the leaderboard going into the weekend.

Successive pars at 13, 14 and 15 keep him level for the day.

  8. A pair of birdies on the par fivepublished at 21:29 British Summer Time 12 April

    Scheffler -6, McIlroy +1, Schauffele E (8)

Scottie Scheffler and Xander Schauffele pick up a shots on the par-five eighth, but again Rory McIlroy fails to take advantage after finding the bunker off the tee.

We mentioned at the start of the tournament how McIlroy has dominated the par fives in his Masters career but he's just level par on them so far this year. He won't challenge unless that improves.

  9. DeChambeau bogeys 14published at 21:28 British Summer Time 12 April

    DeChambeau -7 (14)

We've seen Bryson DeChambeau respond to a bogey with an immediate birdie.

This time it's the reverse as he leaves himself too much to do following a poor second shot.

He's desperately unlucky though as a 22-foot putt rolls round the lip but stays up.

  10. Aberg's flat endingpublished at 21:27 British Summer Time 12 April

    Aberg -2 (69), Spieth +9 (74), Theegala +4 (74)

Never a good sign. Ludvig Aberg's arm comes out off his driver and signals that he's gone well right from the tee on the 18th.

He plays his second from behind the base of a huge pine tree and chunking it out some 50 yards or so before failing to reach the dance floor with his third.

A real lapse as he scoots his chip from the edge 12 feet past the pin but then somehow regains his composure to restrict the damage to just a bogey.

A pretty flat and disappointing ending to the Swede's round but by my reckoning his three-under 69 is still the best score of the day so far.

  11. Scheffler misses a short onepublished at 21:24 British Summer Time 12 April

    Scheffler -5 (7)

Scottie Scheffler usually doesn't do too much wrong on the golf course - he's made a couple of mistakes today already though at Augusta in tough conditions.

  12. Woods wants 'food and caffeine' after long daypublished at 21:22 British Summer Time 12 April

    Woods +1 (72)

Tiger Woods speaks for all of us who put in the long shifts - whether that's at work or on the golf course.

He's tired and hungry after playing 23 holes today. Don't blame him,

But the effort was worth it - the 48-year-old has set a new record by reaching the weekend of the Masters for a 24th consecutive year.

"It's consistency. You cant win a golf tournament unless you're here at the weekend," he tells Sky Sports.

"I made this cut for a number of times in a row, I've got a chance at the weekend and I'm looking forward to it.

"Basically anyone who makes the weekend has a chance. I'm right there."

Asked how he feels, Woods adds: "I'm tired. And I'm really really hungry, I could do with some food and some caffeine."

  13. Postpublished at 21:16 British Summer Time 12 April

    DeChambeau -8 (13)

This was Bryson DeChambeau's fine birdie on 12 that set him up for a bonkers birdie on 13.

  14. Postpublished at 21:15 British Summer Time 12 April

    Woods +1, Day +4, Homa -6 (18)

As Tiger Woods soaked up lots of the attention, a laser-focused Max Homa went along with his business in a very professional manner.

Homa's putter was not as hot as he might have liked, but he knew the importance of not losing shots.

After two birdies in the first four holes, it was textbook regulation golf from the 33-year-old Californian.

Homa hit 15 of 18 greens and had a putting average of 1.83.

  15. 'It's just brutal'published at 21:13 British Summer Time 12 April

    Hatton +2 (74)

Tyrell Hatton has clearly endured a pretty frustrating Friday. He dropped three shots on the closing four holes of the first round and another couple down the 14th and 15th on his way in during the second round. "Obviously I want to do better than just making the weekend. Conditions are very challenging out there.

"It's so hard with the gusts that you get. I feel like I've been a little bit unlucky these first two days. Certainly feel like I've played better golf than what my score currently suggests or shows. But at least we're here for the weekend. I've got two more rounds to see if I can add to my tally of finally shooting in the 60s again.

"You can hit a great shot and you get a gust of wind, and all of a sudden it ends up where it probably wouldn't have done. These two days, it doesn't give you a fair showing of how you've played. As I said, you hit good shots but even putts. Like putting is so hard. Even a three-foot putt, there's no gimmes out here, and there's some pretty tough pins. It's just brutal. You can never just take it for granted. Even a foot putt you can miss. You just get a gust at the wrong time with some of the slopes. It's pretty intense."

  16. Scottie slips up againpublished at 21:11 British Summer Time 12 April

    Scheffler -5, McIlroy +1, Schauffele +1 (7)

The seventh has done for all of them here with three bogeys as conditions continue to get tougher by the minute - there's sand being blown out of bunkers and flags fluttering wildly.

Scheffler slips back to five under and for all the talk of him walking this he's one over for the day and suddenly three shots off the lead.

McIlroy has not started off well at all, and his demeanour will be more of a worry than anything else and he already looks a bit down in the dumps.

  17. DeChambeau makes remarkable birdiepublished at 21:11 British Summer Time 12 April

    DeChambeau -8 (13)

    Made it!

What a hole from Bryson DeChambeau who has suddenly opened up daylight at the top.

    Trees, opposite fairway, birdie.

    All in a day's work.

  18. Postpublished at 21:07 British Summer Time 12 April

    Woods +1, Day +4, Homa -6 (18)

Get that card signed, Tiger, and jump straight in the ice bath.

Woods might have played 23 holes today but there is still a lot of work left to do this evening - on his body.

Hope the former world number one pays his physio overtime.

Making a vintage rust bucket run like a sleek supercar is a time-intensive task.

  19. Aberg scrambles on 17published at 21:07 British Summer Time 12 April

    Aberg -3, Spieth +9, Theegala +4 (17)

A scrambling par for Ludvig Aberg on the 17th, after his approach skips through the back of the green.

Meanwhile, Jordan Spieth struggles to a bogey courtesy of three putt from the front edge. Barely anything has gone right for the American today.

  20. Collin closing inpublished at 21:04 British Summer Time 12 April

    Johnson +11, Morikawa -3, Fleetwood +1 (16)

After the fireworks we've seen, good and bad, Collin Morikawa has been a bit, dare I say, boring with his steady round, but he's picked up a fourth birdie of the day at 16 and he's right in this tournament at three under.

Dustin Johnson just the 11 over par and he'll be heading off home or onto the nearest jetski or speedboat for the weekend.
