McIlroy 'didn't adapt well enough to conditions'

Rory McIlroy admits he "didn't adapt well enough" to difficult conditions at Royal Troon as he slumped to a seven-over 78 in the first round of the Open Championship.

McIlroy, runner-up in last month's US Open, carded one birdie, two double bogeys and four bogeys to sit 10 shots adrift of early leader Justin Thomas.
