    Andrew Thornton
Former jockey on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra

He is a thorough stayer with a good turn of foot. Embassy Gardens fluffed his lines at the second last.

Derek O'Connor is a master in these races and he won't have ridden an easier winner at the Cheltenham Festival.

It has been a day dominated by the name Mullins - and this time it was trainer Emmet, winning the race in memory of his grandmother Maureen.

Emmet is a nephew of Willie and no slouch himself, having won the Grand National in 2022 with Noble Yeats, who is lined up for a tilt at the Stayers' Hurdle on Thursday.

As for Corbetts Cross, his impressive victory has earned quotes of 14-1 for the big one next year - the Cheltenham Gold Cup.

  7. 'He showed his true colours'published at 17:45 Greenwich Mean Time 12 March

Winning trainer Emmet Mullins, speaking to Racing TV: "Very happy. He's a class animal and it was great to see him show his true colours.

"We've just got everything together at the right time."

  8. Corbetts Cross winspublished at 17:43 Greenwich Mean Time 12 March

    Charlie Poste
Former jump jockey on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra

That was the longest race of the day and I would almost say Corbetts Cross finished as well as anyone else this afternoon.

He looked a class apart. This race has been won by top-class horses in the past and he looks as good as any.

We reported earlier that BBC radio commentator John Hunt's car was stuck in the mud - and he might not be the only one with problems leaving the track.

The course has made the following announcement:

"Due to the recent weather, our car park conditions are challenging, If you get stuck, please put your hazards on and the team will assist you as soon as possible."
