    South Africa and Australia have resumed after lunch on day two of the second Test in Port Elizabeth, where the hosts enjoyed an excellent morning session.

    They moved from 214-5 overnight to 323-5, with AB De Villiers going to his 19th Test century with a four off the bowling of Nathan Lyon just before the break. The wicketkeeper-batsman's stand with JP Duminy is now well in excess of 100.

    Villarreal have been fined £3290 (4,000 euro) by the Spanish league disciplinary committee after a spectator caused a delay of game by throwing a smoke bomb with tear gas-like effects onto the field.

    The game between host Villarreal and Celta Vigo at El Madrigal Stadium on Saturday was temporarily stopped after the device was thrown in the 87th minute, forcing the 13,322 fans to evacuate and players to ask for water as it apparently irritated their eyes.

    Aston Villa have returned from a training camp in Portugal, and manager Paul Lambert has reported that he has no new injury concerns ahead of his side's visit to Newcastle United on Sunday.

    Lambert also has better news on defender Jores Okore, who was thought to be set to miss the rest of the season with a ruptured cruciate ligament but could be available within a matter of weeks.

    Liverpool striker Luis Suarez has told the Liverpool Echo, external that he wants to repay the Liverpool fans who stood by him after the events of last summer, when he came close to leaving the club.

    "The fans have helped me so much," he said. "Everyone knows that I had some difficult times last summer.

    "But they have always supported me and always had confidence in me. I really feel that support in my heart."

    Bernie Ecclestone is awaiting the response of F1 owners CVC Capital Partners after a High Court judge said the billionaire had committed bribery & lied about doing so.

    BBC Sport has learned that the F1 chief executive is yet to hear from the private equity group after press reports that his 40 year-long long reign could be over in a matter of days.

    CVC, who have a controlling stake in the sport are currently making no official comment.

    Yesterday a High Court judge rejected an £85m damages claim against Ecclestone but said he did pay a bribe over a sale of F1 shares. Mr Justice Newey found Ecclestone had made a "corrupt" deal. And he had been not "reliable or truthful" during the case.

    Steven Fletcher could have a chance to play his way into Sunderland's Capital One Cup final team when he returns from injury at Arsenal.

    The Scotland international has missed the last three games after being advised to rest an Achilles problem, but manager Gus Poyet is expecting him to be available for Saturday's Premier League trip to the Emirates Stadium.

    Despite trailing Bayern Munich 2-0 from the first leg, the Arsenal boss is not giving up hope of reaching the last eight of the Champions League yet, after all they did achieve the same scoreline on their last visit in March 2013.

    "I have not given up. Statistically it is not likely to happen but in football we have seen strange things.

    "What is important we are in good shape mentally when we go there and then we have a go. I am confident we can produce a stunning result over there."

    BBC Sport's Nick Hope in Sochi: "Been catching up with International Paralympic Committee [IPC] President Sir Philip Craven this morning, who has been checking out the Sochi venues ahead of next month's Games.

    He is confident Russia will put on a "spectacular" Paralympics.

    "They have done things with the facilities which could only be done in Russia, it's phenomenal and the feeling I have from President Putin down is that everyone here is as passionate about the Paralympics being a success as they are the Olympics," he told BBC Sport.

    The Sochi Winter Paralympics begin 7 March.

    Reflecting on Wednesday's defeat to Bayern Munich, Arsene Wenger added: "The common sense says you should divide what is inside the box and outside the box.

    "Denying a scoring opportunity in the box is restored with a penalty.

    "In this case you could say a penalty was a better chance that what Robben had when he was denied. A yellow card would have been enough. Certainly you don't want to kill a game of that stature."

    Here's more Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger, on whether Mezut Ozil has recovered from the disappointment of missing his penalty against Bayern Munich on Wednesday night:

    "Certainly not. 48 hours is a bit short. It's part of the job to deal with disappointment and prove you can get on with it. He apologised after the game. I don't think people are shocked he missed, it's just he takes his penalties in an unusual way.

    "I believe that at the moment I have to let him recover from that. I have seen this before with Bergkamp, missing in 1999 (in the FA Cup semi-final replay against Manchester United) and refusing after to take any penalties."

    The Daily Telegraph is reporting, external that Norwich manager Chris Hughton could be sacked if the Canaries slip into the relegation zone with a heavy defeat against Tottenham this weekend.

    The Canaries have won just one of their last 10 league games and are a point above the bottom three but just seven points separates bottom side Fulham and Hull City in 13th.

    A "disaster" of a winter forced the England and Wales Cricket Board to make the changes that led to the end of Kevin Pietersen's England career, according to Stuart Broad, who will captain England in their forthcoming World Twenty20 campaign.

    Wales captain Sam Warburton has warned that neither he or his team mates should "feel safe" about retaining their places.

    His side take on France tonight in Cardiff in their third match of the 2014 Six Nations, having lost 26-3 to Ireland in Dublin two weeks ago.

    Warburton said, "The message from the coaches is play every Welsh game like it could be your last. So I don't think anybody should feel safe in a Welsh jersey, which is the best way to be."
