    League One

All that remains to be resolved in League One is the issue about who goes down. Shrewsbury and Stevenage will be playing in League Two next season, but which two other teams will join them?

It looks likely that Carlisle will also drop down - they need to win at Wolves and hope Crewe, who have three more points, lose convincingly at home to Preston. The Railwaymen have a +3 goal difference advantage over the Cumbrians.

Tranmere will also be hoping either Crewe and 19th place Notts County, who are at Oldham, fail to win. A draw for Tranmere could prove enough to secure survival.

Steve Davis does not expect to ever see a woman compete in the final stages of the World Snooker Championship.

The six-time world champion, 56, believes the "obsessive" nature of men for an "absolutely irrelevant" activity gives them an advantage.

"The male of the species has got a single-minded, obsessional type of brain that I don't think so many females have," he told BBC World Service's Sports Hour.

Picture the scenario. Your fiercest rivals have their best chance in years to win the league but your team faces another side that could potentially pip them to the title. Alternatively, your team faces a side who, if they win, could stay up and relegate a fierce rival in their place.

No fan likes to see their own team lose but is it ever acceptable to want them to if it helps prevent your rival team from winning the title, or condemns them to relegation?

Netherlands manager Louis van Gaal will be hoping for good neighbours when, or if, he moves to Manchester to succeed David Moyes at Old Trafford. But in a comical gaffe, an Australian regional paper has confused the Dutchman for actor Ian Smith, better known as Harold Bishop in the long-running Australian soap opera Neighbours.

Tony Pulis is set to have a full squad available when Crystal Palace host Liverpool in the Premier League on Monday.

Midfielder Kagisho Dikgacoi missed last Sunday's 2-0 defeat against Manchester City but Pulis is optimistic all his players will be fit for the clash at Selhurst Park.

Palace are already guaranteed safety in the top flight ahead of their final home game of the season while Liverpool will be desperate for a victory to keep their title hopes alive.

Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini on the title race: "In football you never know, so the important thing for us is to think about what we can do and the only thing we can do is to try and win our games."

When quizzed about the possibility of finishing the season without a trophy, Jose Mourinho said: "I am going to tell you a little bit of history of my career. In 2010 I won everything with Inter. Scudetto, Coppa Italia and Champions League. After that, in the first season at Real Madrid I won the cup against the best team in the world. I finished second in the league to the best team in the world and lost the Champions League semi to the best team in the world.

"The next season I was champion against the best team in the world, champion with the record 100 points and record goals scored. We won that league. We lost the Champions League semi-final on penalties when two of the best penalty takers in football missed a penalty - Kaka and Cristiano Ronaldo.

"In the third season we won everything against the best team in the world - every match. We won the Super Cup, we lost the league, and we lost the Champions League semi-final by one goal. The fourth season, which is this one, and probably the first time I don't win a single a trophy - I go to Champions League semi-final, I fight for the title to the last moment. These are the four bad seasons of my career."

  11. Footballpublished at 13:00 British Summer Time 2 May 2014

More from Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho: "Last year, when they were knocked out of the Champions League at the group stage, were they crying? I don't think so Why? Because it was the group phase, you cry if it i s the Champions League semi-final second leg.

"You build the expectations and you put yourself in a position where you dream, you make others dream and go to the limit and when you are almost there, and you don't do it, you become frustrated. John Terry had a very good Champions League and against Atletico he had a very good game and to cry a couple of tears doesn't make you a less man than you are."

Jose Mourinho says Eden Hazard is not ready to "sacrifice himself 100%" for his team-mates.

The Chelsea boss was responding to a question about comments attributed to the Belgian in which he said the Blues weren't set up to play football.

"The media was reporting that he was being critical, but there's nothing critical in what he says. Eden is a player who is not mentally ready to look back to his left-back and leave his life for him.

"When the comment come from a player like Eden, it's normal because he's not a player ready to sacrifice himself 100% for the team and the team-mates. And the comments weren't critical. I'm not happy. I speak all season and I try to improve him all season."

  13. Footballpublished at 12:49 British Summer Time 2 May 2014

Jose Mourinho is asked whether Atletico Madrid striker Diego Costa is a summer target: "The transfer window is closed and it opens in the summer. Chelsea will be quiet during that period. We are not going to be the noisy team, buying and selling and selling and buying.

"We're going to do a couple of critical signings. Is a striker a target for us? Yes. We never denied that. Is Diego a good player? He is, but he is an Atletico Madrid player so we cannot say much."

  14. Footballpublished at 12:48 British Summer Time 2 May 2014

Asked about Chelsea assistant manager Rui Faria's six-match stadium ban for two charges of misconduct, Jose Mourinho says: "It does not deserve a comment."

  15. Footballpublished at 12:47 British Summer Time 2 May 2014

More from Jose Mourinho, who reflects on Chelsea's season: "I don't think it is a bad season. It is a transitional season and to arrive where we have arrived is very good.

"If you told me that for two, three, four years in a row that we don't do more than fight for the title until the last game and to go to the Champions League semi-final, that is a good step.

"Normally you compare to the season before and if you do that, Chelsea lost the title in November and when Manchester United won the title, Chelsea were something like 20 points behind. In the Champions League Chelsea were the first team knocked out in the group stage after being champions. It was a big step being able to fight for the title and the Champions League."

  16. Football - Mourinho press conferencepublished at 12:43 British Summer Time 2 May 2014

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is asked whether Manchester City are favourites to win the Premier League title: "They have three matches to win and be champions but you never know.

"They have something that is normally possible in countries from the fifth world, to play a match in hand three days before the end of the championship.

"The Premier League is the top of the world in terms of championships and to have one match three days before the last match of the season is something amazing, but it is what it is. If they win three matches they are champions, it's in their hands."

  17. Footballpublished at 12:42 British Summer Time 2 May 2014

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is speaking about his side's Champions League exit in midweek in his Friday news conference: "That is life. The players come back like they have to. Obviously not champions but the feeling that they had a good campaign.

"We have two more matches to play and we have to do it in professional way, try to win both and finish the season with a feeling of victory

Asked if Chelsea are in contention for the Premier League title: "I don't really think so. The only thing we can do is win both matches. We play against two teams desperate for the three points against us."
