    Durham and Nottinghamshire were frustrated by the weather at Trent Bridge as their Division One match was drawn with no play possible on day four due to rain.

    A draw had always looked the likeliest outcome after only 83 overs were possible over days two and three but Gordon Muchall will have been disappointed to not have the chance to add to his 158 not out as the champions ended on 335 for four in response to Nottinghamshire's 377.

    The home side finished the match with 10 points while the visitors head back north with 11.

    Bayern Munich's Schweinsteiger has had an injury-ridden season with an inflamed knee the latest setback to keep him out of action in recent weeks. While Real Madrid's Khedira has only recently returned to action after a six-month layoff due to a torn cruciate ligament in his knee last year.

    Second seed Novak Djokovic cruises into the French Open third round on Wednesday with a 6-1, 6-4, 6-2 win over France's Jeremy Chardy.

    It is Djokovic's ninth win in nine meetings against the world number 42 who has never taken a set off the Serb.

    Djokovic, the 2012 runner-up who needs a French Open title to complete a career Grand Slam, next faces either 25th seeded Croat Marin Cilic or Germany's Tobias Kamke.

    Footballers in England are confident the game at its highest levels is clean of the scourge of match-fixing, a survey conducted by international players' union FIFPro has revealed.

    Over 1,500 players from eight countries - England, Scotland, Finland, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Romania and Slovenia - submitted responses to a questionnaire that tested their knowledge about the extent of fixing, approaches to fix matches, sharing inside information and betting rules.

    Every player questioned said they had not played in a game that has since been identified as fixed, nor had they been approached in the past 12 months to fix a match, nor did they believe one or more games have been fixed in that period.

    South Korea endure a nightmare World Cup send off with defender Hong Jeong-ho leaving the field on a stretcher as they lose 1-0 at home to Tunisia.

    The 24-year-old Augsburg centre back, who missed the 2012 London Olympics because of a broken leg, was replaced in the 13th minute after picking up what appeared to be an ankle injury following a tackle from behind by forward Issam Jemaa.

    England captain Alastair Cook is passed fit to return in the third one-day international against Sri Lanka at Emirates Old Trafford.

    Cook missed England's heavy defeat in Durham with a groin strain on Sunday, when the tourists levelled the five-match series at 1-1.

    But he was back in Manchester, England's sole change with Michael Carberry making way at the top of the order.

    Cook chooses to bowl first in a match delayed by bad weather to a 2.20pm start but with no reduction in overs yet.

    England defender Glen Johnson says Liverpool team-mate and Uruguay striker Luis Suarez has told him he will be fit for the World Cup game between their two countries on 19 June.

    Suarez, 27, is a doubt for the Group D match after undergoing a knee operation last Thursday, with his recovery expected to take 15 days to four weeks.

    "I spoke to him in the week," said 29-year-old right-back Johnson.

    "He doesn't think that it is that bad so he thinks he will be OK."
