    Manchester City's fine for breaching Uefa's financial fair play rules is to be shared out around the other clubs in the Champions League. City were fined £50m for the FFP breaches but will only have to pay around £20m if they comply with the break-even rules in future seasons.

    The first payments from City, Paris St Germain and Zenit St Petersburg will total £20m and will be split among the Champions League and Europa League clubs who did comply with the rules last season.

    West Indies completed a 10-wicket win over Bangladesh in the first Test at the Arnos Vale Sports Complex in Kingstown, St Vincent. Despite 116 from captain and wicketkeeper Mushfiqur Rahim, Bangladesh were all out for 314 after following on, leaving the Windies just 13 to win.

    The second and final Test begins at Gros Islet in St Lucia on Saturday.

    Wales begin their European Championship qualifying campaign against Andorra, kick off 19:45 BST, the first meeting between the teams. The match will be played on a 3G artificial pitch and the Welsh will hope there is no repeat of England's experience of 3G surfaces during Euro 2008 qualifying when Steve McClaren's team were beaten 2-1 by Russia, former Tottenham striker Roman Pavlyuchenko [pictured] scoring the winner from the penalty spot.

    The cricketing press have been reacting to the Professional Cricketer's Association's statement over abuse Moeen Ali received at Edgbaston (see 15:28).

    The Daily Mirror's cricket correspondent Dean Wilson tweets, external: "Astonishing response to the booing of Moeen Ali from the PCA. The players union should be standing up for him, not encouraging it."

    Italy's Edoardo Zardini has won the third stage of the Tour of Britain.

    Zardini pulled clear as the peloton tackled the ascent of The Tumble on the outskirts of Abergavenny, South Wales to win by nine seconds from Michal Kwiatkowski. The Bardiani-CSF rider's victory takes him top of the general classification. Defending champion Bradley Wiggins finished fifth.

    BBC Sport's Simon Stone: "Manchester United are set to reveal the cost of David Moyes' disastrous season in charge when they release their end of year financial results on Wednesday.

    "Failure to qualify for this season's Champions League, a £7.4m reduction in Premier League prize money due to their seventh-placed finish and the pay-offs for Moyes and four members of his backroom team are expected to reach around £50m.

    "United spent a record £151.5m this summer on six players, yet are still to win under Louis van Gaal in the Premier League this term and were beaten 4-0 at League One MK Dons in the Capital One Cup.

    "This is not expected to halt their commercial success though. United are in the first season of a seven-year shirt sponsorship deal with US car giant Chevrolet worth around £50m a year. They have also just negotiated a 10-year agreement with adidas to manufacture their kits from next season.

    "Overall commercial revenue for the year is expected to be around £190m, part of overall income of £430m."

    Judd Trump and John Higgins have joined Ronnie O'Sullivan in an early exit from the Shanghai Masters. Trump was beaten 5-2 by Welshman Dominic Dale, while Ryan Day rolled in breaks of 55, 102 and 77 in successive frames to overturn a 4-2 deficit and beat Higgins 5-4.

    Jenson Button has revealed he held an "interesting and encouraging" conversation with Ron Dennis about the future direction of McLaren at the weekend.

    McLaren are still to decide on their driver line-up for next season and have been linked with moves for both Fernando Alonso and Sebatian Vettell.

    Button said: "Forgetting the driver situation, it was good to talk about the future of the team, the direction it is going and how it is performing. It was all interesting and encouraging, which comes on the back of the last couple of races in particular."

    The GB Para Table Tennis Team is assured of at least two medals in the 2014 ITT PTT World Championships in Beijing after Will Bayley and Sue Gilroy reached the semi-final stages of the men's class 7 and women's class 4 singles respectively.

    World number two Bayley beat Stephane Messi's conqueror Daniel Horut 3-1 and now plays Mykhaylo Popov in the semi-finals on Wednesday morning, in a repeat of the European final last year that the Ukrainian won.

    Professional Cricketers' Association chief executive Angus Porter does not want the row over Moeen Ali's Edgbaston abuse to boil over. England all-rounder Moeen was booed by Indian fans during the hosts' T20 win in Birmingham on Sunday and his father Munir believed it was because of his Pakistani background.

    "His dad offered his view sincerely and I hope it doesn't stoke the fire because he was just standing up for his boy," Porter said. "There is an element of taking it as a compliment. You are more likely to boo someone when you think they are someone to be feared. Take it as as a positive, you'd rather be booed than ignored."

    There have been many agonising moments in qualifying campaigns for Wales down the years, but they came close to reaching Euro 2004 after finishing second to Italy in Group Nine. They began the campaign with a 2-0 win in Finland and also beat the Italians at home, but only the group winners qualified automatically and Wales lost a two-legged play-off to Russia 1-0 in November 2003.

    Pakistan Cricket Board's media spokesman Agha Akbar has told BBC Radio 5 Live the future "looks bleak" for Saeed Ajmal.

    The 37-year-old has been suspended by the ICC for an illegal bowling action.

    Mr Akbar told presenter Tony Livesey: "We have referred the matter to our own committee and once they have made their conclusions, we will look at all the options.

    "But, I'm afraid we may have seen the last of him in international cricket."

    Now a successful players' agent, the left-hander played 10 Test Matches and 75 ODIs for England, including appearances at three World Cups.

    He shares his birthday with Aston Villa goalkeeper Brad Guzan (30), Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric (29) and England and Durham cricketer Graham Onions (32).

    Michael Schumacher's management have issued a statement following news of his release from hospital in Lausanne.

    It reads: "Considering the severe injuries he suffered, progress has been made in the past weeks and months. There is still, however, a long and difficult road ahead.

    "We ask that the privacy of Michael's family continue to be respected, and that speculations about his state of health are avoided."

    Former world champion Michael Schumacher has left Lausanne hospital to continue his recovery at home.

    The 45-year-old German was left fighting for his life after sustaining head injuries in a skiing accident in the French Alps last December. He was transferred to Lausanne university hospital in Switzerland in June and brought out of a coma.

    Continuing our look back at previous European Championship qualifying campaigns for Wales, and for Euro 2008 they were in Group D with the Czech Republic, Germany, Republic of Ireland, Slovakia, Cyprus and San Marino.

    Their opening match saw a 2-1 defeat in the Czech Republic in September 2006 and through they went on to hold Germany 0-0 in Frankfurt, they won only four of their 12 games and finished fifth.
