    The London Evening Standard reports, external that Crystal Palace forward Marouane Chamakh has thanked manager Neil Warnock for being patient with him as he recovered from his latest hamstring injury.

    Chamakh came on as a substitute in last weekend's 2-0 win against Leicester after a month on the sidelines with Warnock admitting that he could have brought the 30-year-old back sooner but did not want to risk anything.

    "I did not want to take any risks because last year I had the same injury and when I came back, I was out again for two weeks," he said. "I have worked really hard this month so I was happy to come back on Saturday."

    Rangers duo Bilel Mohsni and Kris Boyd have both been issued with notices of complaints by new Scottish Football Association compliance officer Tony McGlennan.

    Both players were involved in off-the-ball incidents during Monday night's surprise 3-1 defeat to Scottish Championship rivals Hibernian at Ibrox and have each been offered two-match bans after being accused of "violent conduct".

    They have been given until Thursday to accept their bans or face a principal hearing on 9 October.

    Sussex cricket manager Mark Robinson says wicketkeeper Matt Prior is determined to return to the England set-up once he recovers from injury.

    The 32-year-old, who has had surgery on an Achilles tendon problem, lost his central contract for 2014-15.

    "Matt is a driven, hard man who has got a lot of medals and a lot of scars as well," Robinson told BBC Sussex. "The danger is when you look too far ahead but a bloke on a mission and with a dream is quite dangerous."

    Mohammed Abdulaziz of Saudi Arabia won ahead of Abdulrahman Musaeb Bala of Qatar and Abraham Kipchirchir Rotich of Bahrain, but Abdulazis was disqualified for obstruction with the latter two having their results cancelled for lane violations.

    Celtic striker John Guidetti has backed the Hoops to grab their first Europa League win without him.

    The on-loan Manchester City hitman has scored three goals in his first four games for the Parkhead outfit but will miss his new side's Europa League game against Dinamo Zagreb on Thursday as his move did not come inside the Uefa transfer deadline.

    "The boys are going to do fantastic," he said. "I'm going to watch from the stands, which is even worse because you get more nervous. This was the game I would love to play in but this is life and I have 100 per cent belief in the boys that they're going to do well."
