    Liverpool know a defeat in Ludogorets this evening would knock them out of the Champions League if Basel got anything against Real Madrid. Even victory for the Reds would need them leaving beat the Swiss side in the final match.

    Poulter revealed he would "love" to be Ryder Cup captain "one day".

    "Hopefully, I've got another 10 years in me before I ever get asked," he told BBC Sport.

    Celtic midfielder Aleksandar Tonev will have his appeal against a charge of racially abusing Aberdeen's Shay Logan heard on 4 December.

    The 24-year-old on-loan Aston Villa winger was handed a seven-match ban after being found guilty by the Scottish FA of "excessive misconduct".

    Celtic's appeal allowed Tonev to be available for selection, but he has not played since the appeal was lodged.

    The charge stems from the match against Aberdeen on 13 September.

    Moeen Ali has scored a half century off just 25 balls as England chase down 318 to beat Sri Lanka in the opening ODI.

    England are 86-1 after 11 overs - captain Alastair Cook has been dismissed for 10.

    Earlier Sri Lanka made 317-6 in their 50 overs after being put in to bat.

    Here's an early contender for unusual training grounds - inspired by Borussia Dortmund's session in Regent's Park earlier.

    It's a short trip back to the summer of 2013 and Manchester United's tour of Australia.

    Then new manager David Moyes decided to put the squad through their paces on Sydney's Bondi Beach. Much to the interest of passing tourists.

    The Daily Mirror, external reports Manchester City's Sergio Aguero, who scored a hat-trick in a 3-2 win over Bayern Munich to keep alive their Champions League hopes, has been omitted from UEFA's 40-strong shortlist for team of the year.

    They report of the 40 players nominated for the 2014 UEFA Team of the Year only seven come from the Premier League.

    Schalke general manager Horst Heldt is not a happy man, describing his team's 5-0 home defeat to Chelsea in the Champions League "embarrassing" and "unacceptable".

    "In the first half above all we did everything wrong that it's possible to do wrong," he told Schalke's official website., external "You can lose against Chelsea - they are ultimately a very good team - but the way we lost is not acceptable."

    So what do the English clubs have to do this evening with regards Champions League qualification?

    Arsenal will progress from their group with a draw at home to Borussia Dortmund or if the match between Anderlecht and Galatasaray is drawn.

    Liverpool can ensure a top-three finish with victory at Ludogorets, but even then they will definitely need three points against Basel on 9 December to have a chance of coming second.

    Cheltenham have appointed ex-Bristol Rovers boss Paul Buckle as their new manager, on a 12-month rolling deal.

    The 43-year-old replaces Mark Yates, who was sacked on Tuesday after five years in charge at the League Two club.

    Yates, a former Robins captain, led the club to two play-off campaigns but they are currently 18th in the table after four straight defeats.

    Buckle has been working as a technical director in the United States since quitting as Luton boss last year.

    Rotherham United have signed Manchester United left-back Reece James on an emergency loan deal until 10 January.

    The 21-year-old has only made one senior appearance for the Red Devils, coming in the League Cup, and also had a loan spell with Carlisle in 2013.

    It appears as though Borussia Dortmund have been causing a stir in London today ahead of this evening's Champions League tie at Arsenal.

    The Bundesliga side have been pictured training at Regent's Park, causing much surprise on social media.

    Usually a venue for Camden and Regents Sunday League, Dortmund have been raising the standard. Imagine the surprise of the dog walkers...
