    Birmingham City will sign defender Michael Morrison on a permanent deal for an undisclosed fee on 1 January.

    The 26-year-old, who has been on loan at Blues since October, will sign a three-and-a-half-year deal when the transfer window opens.

    He was Gary Rowett's first signing as Birmingham boss and has played seven times for the St Andrew's side.

    An interesting appointment in the world of tennis where Dani Vallverdu is to coach Tomas Berdych following his departure from Andy Murray's team.

    The Venezuelan became friends with Murray during their time together at the Sanchez-Casal academy in Barcelona and had worked with the Scot for the past five years.

    Murray announced last month that Vallverdu and fitness trainer Jez Green had left the team, describing the split as "mutual" in a short statement.

    The votes are in and counted and Thierry Henry has been voted by you as the greatest Premier League striker ever.

    The former Arsenal man received 45.6% of the vote, followed by Alan Shearer with 30.2%. Didier Drogba got 8.7% of the vote, Ruud van Nistelrooy 5.6% and Wayne Rooney 3.8%.

    The number of people playing golf is falling and Rory McIlroy believes speeding the game up at grassroots level could reverse that trend.

    Sport England figures show the amount of 16 to 25-year-olds playing the game regularly almost halved between 2009-10 and 2012-13.

    Kevin Pietersen has been released by his IPL team, the Delhi Daredevils. Pietersen captained them this year as they finished bottom of the table, scoring just one 50 in 11 matches.

    Pietersen will now go into the auction - Delhi could buy him back if they wanted.

    Manchester United are confident David De Gea's future is at Old Trafford.

    The Spanish keeper's contract expires in 2016 and the 24-year-old is aware of reports of interest from Real Madrid.

    United have not said if they have begun talks over an extension, although it would be normal practice as the deal is about to enter the final 18 months.

    Norwich midfielder Cameron McGeehan has said he would welcome the chance to return to Luton Town on loan.

    The 19-year-old played 18 times to help John Still's Hatters win promotion from the Conference last season.

    "I still talk to John every now and again and I could potentially go there on loan," the Canaries youngster told BBC Radio Norfolk. "But at the minute they're doing really well. If that comes to fruition it would be good."
