    Barcelona have said "Merci", external to Thierry Henry today after he announced his retirement from the game.

    The French striker won a host of titles with Barça, most notably the 2009 Champions League as well as two Spanish League titles, a Club World Cup, a Spanish Cup and both the Spanish and European Super Cups.

    In all, he played 121 official games for the club, bagging 49 goals including two hat tricks (against Levante and Valencia) and scored twice in a 6-2 win at Real Madrid.

He did not score in Rotterdam, but hit the post early on and was a handful all night for the Italian back line. Were it not for the brilliance of Francesco Toldo, who kept Henry out numerous times, the match - which needed extra-time to find a winner - would have been over a lot sooner.

    "We have to believe we can win the title," he said. "It is still early days but we are getting better and better, the results are coming and there are a lot of games to go.

    Arsenal Ladies have signed Spain international Natalia Pablos Sanchon from Bristol Academy.

    The 29-year-old forward, who played under Gunners boss Pedro Martinez Losa at Rayo Vallecano Femenino, scored nine goals in 19 appearances last season.

    "Natalia is a player I know very well," Losa told the Arsenal website. "She was a natural goalscorer in Spain and she has proven she can score in England too. She has a great character and will add a lot to our team."

    Natalia is the second player to move from the West Country to London this month, after defender Jemma Rose joined Arsenal last week.

    Forest supporter Shaun Lander earned his side the prize as Sky Bet's Transfer Fund competition came to an end on Tuesday lunchtime, just over 24 hours after the Football League put Forest, along with Championship rivals Blackburn and Leeds, under an embargo for breaching financial fair play rules.

    Manchester United midfielder Ander Herrera has responded to being among 41 people named in a match-fixing probe in Spain.

    He said on Facebook:, external "In an on-going legal process involving Real Zaragoza (Spain), the club I was honoured to play from 12 until 22 years of age, there are 41 people cited as possible witnesses, of which I am one.

    "I have never had and will never have anything to do with manipulating match results. If I am ever called to testify in any judicial hearing, I'll be happy to attend, as my conscience is totally clear.

    "I love football and I believe in fair play, both on and off the pitch."
