14:58 GMT 6 January 2015Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard is on the brink of finalising an 18-month deal to join Los Angeles Galaxy. An announcement is expected this week.
The 34-year-old will sign a contract worth around £4m per year, making him one of the highest earners in the MLS. He will be available to play once his contract with Liverpool expires at the end of June.
Gerrard will join up with former Liverpool teammate Robbie Keane in LA. While MLS has a salary cap structure, each club has three 'Designated Player' places which they can use to sign star players.
Keane is one such player as was Landon Donovan, who has now left the Galaxy having retired, and vacated a place the Gerrard will fill.

Harrington says: "Everything is good. He's come out of the race at Christmas well and we're happy with him. "He got closer to Hurricane Fly than he ever has before at Leopardstown, so we'll take him on again at the end of the month."

Prince Ali Bin Al Hussein, 39, will stand as a candidate at Fifa's presidential election on 29 May, where Sepp Blatter, 78, will seek a fifth term of office.
Dyke says: "Personally I welcome Prince Ali's decision to stand for the FIFA Presidency. It is very important that there is a credible candidate standing against Mr Blatter and Prince Ali is certainly that."

14:30 GMT 6 January 2015Bournemouth chairman Jeff Mostyn says sought-after manager Eddie Howe is heading for the Premier League - but it will be with the Cherries and not another club.
Howe, 37, has been linked with several top-flight clubs over the past month, including Newcastle United.
Bournemouth are currently one point clear at the top of the Championship.
"He is back with us and I have no doubt Eddie Howe will manage a Premier League side and it will be AFC Bournemouth," Mostyn told BBC South Today.

Former FA chairman David Bernstein has been talking to BBC Radio 5 live about Prince Ali Bin Al Hussein and the Jordanian Prince's challenge against incumbent Sepp Blatter for the leadership of world football's governing body.
Bernstein says: "I know him fairly well from my time at the FA. He will provide a strong challenge to Sepp Blatter and if he got the position he would do it very well.
"Fifa needs a major shake-up and it has lost its credibility. It certainly needs a change and this guy could do it.
"Blatter isn't a fool and he is a very shrewd operator and he gets a lot of support. He isn't popular in Europe but in other parts of the world where FIFA does a lot of good things he has a lot of support.

To gain a super licence, drivers must earn a fixed number of qualifying points from racing in junior series in a three-year period.
They must cover at least 300km in an F1 car and hold a valid driving licence.
Max Verstappen, 17, who will make his F1 debut this year, would be ineligible to make his debut under the rules.

The 24-year-old returned from a serious knee injury towards the end of last year and Garcia hopes he can have a major impact for his team in the remainder of the campaign.
"With Kevin, we obviously knew he had such a bad injury that it would take him time to get back to 100%," said Garcia.
"He'll basically only have half a season, but fortunately we play less games in the first half of the campaign.
"The more he trains, the more he is improving. For Kevin, the break was important, even in a mental sense to get back to training with a freshness. Gradually, we'll see whether he is 100%, but he is getting back to it in training."
