    Peter Coates, chairman on Premier League side Stoke City, has given his views on a potential winter World Cup in 2022.

    Let's just say he is not too happy. The word "disaster" was mentioned.

    He told BBC Radio 5 live: "The only saving grace is that we don't have to think about it for a long time. The planning will go on and it will be incredibly difficult. It couldn't be more disruptive. It couldn't be more messy.

    Ex-England international Trevor Sinclair has been talking on BBC Radio 5 live about a potential winter World Cup in Qatar in 2022.

    "All the countries that were involved in the initial bids should get the option to bid again for a winter games as Fifa have moved the goalposts," said Sinclair.

    "That's unacceptable and it should end up in the courts. It stinks and it should never have been given to Qatar.

    "As a player it would be fantastic to play a World Cup in the winter - especially if it's a one off. I think playing in the winter would be especially great for the Premier League as our weather is so poor and it'd be a good respite for the players. Looking at that side of things, I think it's a great idea."

    "I struggled at the start and I was scared at the first ball," says Gayle.

    West Indies opener Chris Gayle hit the first double century in World Cup history in Tuesday's Pool B match against Zimbabwe at Canberra.

    The 35-year-old left-hander reached 200 off 138 balls, hitting Tendai Chatara for a boundary in the 46th over. His mark eclipsed the unbeaten 188 by South Africa's Gary Kirsten against the United Arab Emirates in 1996.

    Gayle hit a total of 16 sixes in 147 balls before he was out for 215 off the last delivery of his side's innings.

    West Indies scored 372-2, with Marlon Samuels scoring an unbeaten 133. Zimbabwe have reached 18-1 in reply, but it is currently raining.

    City midfielder Samir Nasri, is just a little bit excited about tonight's game, which is the first leg of their last-16 tie.

    "We have had a lot of success in the Premier League so fans are really passionate," said the midfielder. "In the Champions League we need to create our history to have this special relationship with the fans. A game like Barcelona can be a big victory between us and the fans in the competition."
