  1. Yeovil manager accepts relegationpublished at 10:34 Greenwich Mean Time 18 March 2015

Yeovil Town's acting manager Terry Skiverton has admitted his side are unlikely to stave off relegation from League One.

Skiverton, who has been in temporary charge since Gary Johnson's sacking in January, told BBC Somerset: "It's probably the end of what we've been trying to do.

"Now it's about pride. The players are fighting for their futures."

David Gale:, external Saints cannot win on the television, so annoying. Dig up the stats it shows a dismal record on SKY/BBC/FA Cup or Premier League.

  9. Atletico join Monaco in last eightpublished at 09:52 Greenwich Mean Time 18 March 2015

    Atletico MadridImage source, AS

Joining Monaco in the Champions League last-eight are Spanish champions - and last season's runners-up - Atletico Madrid.

And like the Ligue 1 side, they did it the hard way. Granted Atletico didn't have a three-goal advantage to protect, but Diego Simeone's men could only nab the one goal in 120 minutes of hard graft against Bayer Leverkusen.

And that meant...penalties. The Spanish side held their nerve to win 3-2 against the Germans. Yes, a German side losing on penalties...

Hakan Calhanoglu, Omer Toprak and Stefan Kiessling all missed as Leverkusen produced a very un-German set of penalties, handing Atletico a 3-2 victory in the shootout.

So, what did Arsene Wenger make of the defeat to Monaco? Well, the Arsenal manager was in fairly bullish mood, claiming that Monaco did not deserve to go through.

Asked if Monaco deserved to progress, Wenger said: "I don't believe so. If you look at the number of shots on target they had you will be surprised. Every defeat hurts but we didn't lose."

Interestingly, Arsenal skipper Per Mertesacker wasn't singing from the same hymn sheet as his manager. He said: "The best team went through. Monaco deserved it because they played much better in the first leg."
