    Fenerbahce striker Emmanuel Emenike demanded to be substituted after being booed by his own fans during their 1-0 home win over rivals Besiktas.

    The Nigeria international reacted angrily to jeers after losing the ball and took his shirt off, storming off the pitch, only be to be talked back on by his coaching staff. He was replaced at half-time.

    Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli has thanked fans who restrained him as he reacted to a challenge by Manchester United's Chris Smalling on Sunday.

    Torquay United's players earn an average weekly wage of £375, according to manager Chris Hargreaves.

    Back to the breaking news we brought you about Adam Lallana now and the Liverpool midfielder is the third injury withdrawal from the England squad to face Lithuania and Italy.

    It follows injuries to Southampton goalkeeper Fraser Forster and Manchester United defender Luke Shaw.

    QPR goalkeeper Rob Green and Jack Butland of Stoke City have been called up to replace Forster. Tottenham left-back Danny Rose was brought in to replace Shaw.

    Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe hopes Saturday's 3-0 victory over Middlesbrough, which took the Cherries top of the Championship, will give his side a "psychological boost" in the race for promotion.

    With seven games left, Howe's side hold a one-point lead over Watford and Boro.

    "Psychologically it gives us a boost knowing we've beaten one of the best sides in the division," Howe told BBC Radio Solent. "It should serve us well hopefully in the remaining games."

    There was a career first for Rafael Benitez on Sunday, the ex-Liverpool and Chelsea boss was sent off for the first time as a manager.

    Benitez was sent to the stands late on as his Napoli side drew 1-1 with 10-man Atalanta.

    Unhappy with what he felt was a foul in the build up to Atalanta's goal, as Mauricio Pinilla stole the ball off Paulo Henrique, rounded the goalkeeper and scored, Benitez said:, external "Maybe six referees are not enough it should be better to have eight indeed, some decisions could not be explained otherwise.

    "After having managed more than 600 matches, I have never being shown a yellow card, If I get angry there is a fair reason. Tonight's match result was influenced by an event that cannot be considered a fair football decision."

    A golf story to bring you from overnight now and a frustrated Henrik Stenson blamed rules officials for his poor putting as Matt Every retained the Arnold Palmer Invitational title by one shot.

    Sweden's Stenson was a shot ahead with four holes to play, but paid for three-putting at the 15th and 16th after being put "on the clock" by officials.

    Every, of the United States, birdied the final hole, at which Stenson only managed par as he finished second.

    "It's busy enough trying to close out a golf tournament and to play the finishing holes without being on the clock," Stenson said.

    "I did not see the reason for that really."

    Premier League referees must get fitter to help reduce the likelihood of mistakes, says Alan Shearer.

    The former England captain's comments come in the wake of a weekend of high-profile refereeing errors. Neil Swarbrick sent off West Brom's Gareth McAuley instead of Craig Dawson, and Richard Clark sent off Fulham's Cauley Woodrow but then called him back and instead dismissed Shaun Hutchinson.

    "They could be fitter but they need all the help they can get," says Shearer.

    The midfielder's groin injury flared up in the 2-1 defeat by Manchester United on Sunday and he will miss the Euro 2016 qualifier against Lithuania on Friday and England's friendly in Italy four days later.

    Roy Hodgson's squad was expected to meet up this lunchtime and it is understood Lallana will not be with them.

    Former Leeds footballer Clarke Carlisle has pleaded guilty to a drink-driving offence.

    The 35-year-old appeared at Highbury Corner Magistrates' Court in north London earlier.

    The former Professional Footballers' Association chairman, who also played for Burnley and QPR, admitted failing to provide a sample on 20 December.

    He also pleaded guilty to a charge of driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence on the same date, when police officers spotted a Mercedes travelling in an "erratic" manner.
