    "If I had to replace those who were not playing at their best, I would have to change the whole squad," said Ancelotti, whose side won the first leg 2-0. "I'm sure Bale is not happy with what he is doing and he understands that and wants to do better."

    The development, backed by Doncaster Council, will create a world-class golf venue and resort under the European Tour Destination banner.

    European indoor pentathlon champion Katarina Johnson-Thompson is to compete in the Great CityGames Manchester on May 9. The Liverpool Harrier will contest the 200m hurdles and the long jump.

    "I've seen the events on television before and love the idea of competing so close to the public. I can't wait to experience it first-hand for the first time," she said.

    But Best said: "Gordon's probably been written off a few times in his career, but he's got a great attitude, he's a great player and if you see him playing back well for Leinster I don't think Ireland have enough players to be turning people down that are playing well."

    Three-time FA Cup winner Peter Schmeichel has relived some of his favourite cup moments ahead of Monday's quarter-final between Manchester United and Arsenal.

    Dundee United have appealed against the sending off of midfielder Paul Paton in their Scottish Cup quarter-final against Celtic, who themselves have challenged the dismissal of defender Virgil van Dijk.

    Both were sent off after a melee broke out - with Paton apparently the victim of mistaken identity - and will miss Sunday's League Cup final between the sides should the appeals fail.
