    Sporting director Ariedo Braida has conceded that Barcelona are vulnerable to offers for Lionel Messi from the likes of Manchester City.

    Barca's all-time top scorer, 27, is contracted until June 2019 and has a €205m release clause.

    However, Braida said: "Now with these clubs that have so much money like [Manchester] City, certain amounts don't seem to have a value. In football things happen that appear impossible but I hope he will remain."

    England captain Eoin Morgan has been speaking about the defeat.

    He said: "It's pretty poor. To be knocked out of a World Cup this early is unbelievably disappointing. The target was well within our reach - we bowled reasonably well but we didn't match it up.

    "We've struggled and fallen away since we arrived here. Ultimately it comes down to performance - today some of our guys performed but we didn't perform as a unit. We picked guys who, if we performed, could have won the World Cup, but we haven't performed."

    Bradford City are not confident of convincing Notts County to move their League One fixture to give them more time before their FA Cup quarter-final replay at Reading.

    The Bantams face the Championship club again next Monday, just 48 hours after both sides are in league action. City were eager to move their game to the Friday night but joint-chairman Mark Lawn told the Telegraph & Argus: "We'll ask Notts County again but I wouldn't hold my breath."

    Three Dutch football fans have been fined by state prosecutors after posting racist comments about a selfie featuring nine memebers of the Netherlands national team.

    The selfie, taken by QPR's Leroy Fer, featured eight black players as well as Manchester City's Karim Rekik, whose father is Tunisian.

    Fer welcomed the 360 euro (£260) fines, calling them "a clear signal to everybody that this kind of thing can't happen - not on the field or off it."

    Scotland coach Vern Cotter has added two players to his squad ahead of this Saturday's Calcutta Cup match against England at Twickenham in the Six Nations.

    British and Irish Lions wing Sean Maitland has been drafted in for Glasgow Warriors club mate, Sean Lamont, who has been ruled out of the rest of the tournament with a knee injury suffered in Glasgow's win over Zebre on Friday.

    Edinburgh hooker Stuart McInally has also been called up as precautionary cover for Ross Ford, who suffered a back spasm in the defeat by Italy.

    Manchester United assistant manager Ryan Giggs has refuted suggestions Angel Di Maria is suffering from a lack of confidence.

    The Argentine playmaker, who became British football's most expensive signing when he arrived from Real Madrid for £59.7m in August, has scored once in 19 games and has failed to finish any of United's last three Premier League matches.

    "I think his confidence is fine," Giggs said. "Players get used to different leagues, sometimes quickly and sometimes it takes a bit of time."

    Formula 1 team Mercedes will not try to stop the fierce rivalry between their drivers Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg, team boss Toto Wolff says.

    Hamilton beat Rosberg to the world title last season in a campaign marked by an ongoing feud between the two drivers, which came to a head when they collided at the Belgian Grand Prix.

    But Wolff said: "We are not going to change our approach in terms of philosophy on how to let the drivers race. Even if it is not always easy.

    "If you have no emotion in this sport, if you stay rational all the time, you lose a lot and the sport loses a lot and the way we run the team is with emotion."
