    Everton striker Romelu Lukaku has spent the morning at a Kick It Out session at a school in Liverpool and tells the Press Association that he scored goals to combat racism as a youngster.

    "I didn't suffer too much but when you hear it for the first time you are like 'Oh my God'. But I just responded by scoring goals. I used it as motivation," he said.

    "I remember one game for Anderlecht under-15s, a parent said something but we ended up winning 7-1 and I scored four, so it doesn't matter."

    New Zealand all-rounder Corey Anderson races a race to be fit to feature for his country in next month's series with England.

    All-rounder Anderson, who has 10 Test caps, is to miss the remainder of the Indian Premier League season after suffering a broken finger with Mumbai Indians.

    The Kiwis are already set to arrive in England without several first-choice players, who will miss two tour matches and then fly in from the IPL just in time for the first Test at Lord's.

    Things are going pretty well for Juventus right now. They are into the Champions League semi-finals and chasing a domestic double. However, they have confirmed that they will not be signing Monaco striker Radamel Falcao, who is currently on loan at Manchester United. It is all to do with the 29-year-old's wages, apparently, which they describe as "substantial and beyond our means".

    However, the Daily Mail have reported, external that Juve are interested in Palermo's Paulo Dybala and PSG striker Edinson Cavani, both of whom have been linked with English clubs.

    Wolves defender Danny Batth will miss the rest of the season after a scan revealed a stress fracture in his foot.

    The 24-year-old, who has captained Wolves for much of the campaign, could be out for up to three months and will not be available for the Championship play-offs if eighth-placed Wolves qualify.

    Batth has started every league game for Wolves since head coach Kenny Jackett took charge in May 2013.

    "Unfortunately injuries do happen, but Danny has had a very good season," Jackett told the club website. "I know how determined Danny will be to come back strongly and how fit he will come back for pre-season."

    Greece could be suspended from international football unless the country's government rescinds proposed new laws.

    The Greek government has put forward a bill which could see sporting events cancelled due to incidents of crowd violence and teams prohibited from playing in European competition.

    World governing body Fifa and European rulers Uefa say that is direct government interference in football.

    "Sadly there will be no other choice than to suspend the Greek Football Federation if this new legislation is passed because football does not allow government interference," Uefa's general secretary Gianni Infantino says.

    Everton boss Roberto Martinez expects an "open game" when Manchester United visit Goodison Park on Sunday.

    Both sides are in good form with the Blues earning 13 points from their last five games and United taking 12.

    Former Celtic manager Neil Lennon says the Scottish Football Association will "open up a can of worms" by banning Inverness Caledonian Thistle's Josh Meekings from the Scottish Cup final.

    Inverness have refused to accept a retrospective one-game ban for Meekings for handling a Leigh Griffiths header in a 3-2 semi-final win over Celtic on Sunday.

    If Thursday's tribunal does not go their way, Meekings will miss the final.

    Fifa referees boss Jim Boyce also says a ban will set a "dangerous precedent".

    Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is delighted that "brilliant professional" Jordan Henderson is staying at Liverpool after signing a new contract.

    "He has faced adversity in his time at Liverpool, but his improvement, growth and development is entirely down to his own hunger, commitment and willingness to learn and be better," said Rodgers.

    "The fact he has made such a long-term commitment to Liverpool is a sign of his belief in what we are looking to do here. He will have a crucial role to play as we look to take this side forward.

    Jordan Henderson says he is "over the moon" to sign a new contract with Liverpool, which will take him up until the end of the 2019-20 season.

    "It's brilliant news for me to commit my future to this football club - I really feel that it's a good time for us to look forward to the future, with the squad we've got, the manager, the size of the club and the fans we've got," he said.

    "I really think, over the next few years, we can challenge and start winning trophies."

    Liverpool midfielder Jordan Henderson has signed a new five-year contract, the club have announced.

    The 24-year-old England international joined the Reds from Sunderland in 2011 for around £20m.

    With Steven Gerrard leaving at the end of the season for Major League Soccer side LA Galaxy, Henderson is among the favourites for the captaincy.

    Vice-captain Henderson, whose current contract expires at the end of next season, has scored seven times in 55 games for club and country this campaign.

    Sir Clive Woodward says England's "old-fashioned" policy of only selecting domestic-based players should be scrapped.

    The 2003 World Cup-winning coach has congratulated Australia for "seeing sense" and calling up Matt Giteau and Drew Mitchell from French club Toulon.

    "Stuart Lancaster must be free to pick his best players, no matter where they ply their trade," he wrote in the Daily Mail.

    "It's wrong to say England are best served by players at English clubs."

    Liverpool boxer Paul Smith will fight undefeated WBA super-middleweight champion Andre Ward in Oakland, USA, on 20 June, promoter Eddie Hearn has announced.

    Smith last fought in February, losing on points to Germany's Arthur Abraham in a WBO title bout.

    Ward beat Britain's four-time world champion Carl Froch on points in 2011 but hasn't fought since November 2013.

    Former Liverpool striker Fernando Torres has claimed he left Anfield on the advice of club captain Steven Gerrard.

    Torres scored 81 goals in three and a half seasons on Merseyside before joining Chelsea in January 2011 in a £50m move.

    The Spaniard said: "He talked with me a lot and even when it was said I was leaving he said: 'Think about yourself and do what's best for you because you've seen how people are leaving and it's time. You have nothing to prove'.

    "He changed my way of seeing things and showed me that I could get much higher than what I had always thought. I'll never find a team mate like him, I'm sure."

    Torres was speaking during an interview with his friend Carlos Matallanas, external in Spanish newspaper AS after Matallanas, a former footballer, was diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), a severe neurodegenerative disease.

    Hull City boss Steve Bruce believes his side need to win at least two of their remaining six games to avoid relegation from the Premier League.

    Hull are currently 17th, above Leicester on goal difference and travel to Crystal Palace on Saturday.

    "A month ago, there were probably eight teams in trouble but if we're being honest it now looks as though there are five of us," he told Talksport.

    "Of our six remaining games, four are at home but then you're going to throw the 'but' at us. There's no question that it's going to be difficult. However, the way I see it is that we need to win at least two games."

    After much concern, debate and speculation, the official word is that tickets for the highly-anticipated world championship showdown between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao at the MGM Grand Garden Arena on 2 May will be on sale from 20:00 BST tonight.

    Tickets are available for both in-arena and closed circuit viewing and are priced at $7,500 (£5,000), $5,000 (£3,333), $3,500 (£2,333), $2,500 (£1,666) and $1,500 (£1,000). The tickets are limited to four per household, so if you've got a spare 20k lying around you can take the whole family. You'll have to fly there first, of course. And get a hotel. And eat.
