Birmingham City have not confirmed that there is a buy-out clause in his newly-signed three-year contract, but an initial fee reported to be around £4.7m would be about right for a 19-year old with only one full season of Championship football under his belt.  

Former Leeds United man Ian Harte has retired. The ex-Republic of Ireland defender, 37, made 213 appearances for the club and most recently played for Bournemouth.

Tottenham officials are letting it be known that they are considering cooling their interest in the England Under-21 international.But I understand that is likely to be a tactic aimed at scaring West Brom into agreeing a deal.

Chairman Jeremy Peace has so far rejected two offers from Spurs as he holds out for as much as possible, the consensus being that £25m would do the job.

West Brom expect Berahino to leave and manager Tony Pulis wants the proceeds as soon as possible to reinvest in a number of new signings.

Sources I’ve spoken to at Manchester City maintain the signing of Kevin De Bruyne from Wolfsburg is not yet a done deal.

The feeling is that it’s not far off, though, and German club hold their weekly news conference at 11:30 BST, so we should hear more then.

Championship side Bolton Wanderers are set to sign full-back Jose Manuel Casado on a free transfer. 

The 29-year-old left-back left Almeria this summer after they were relegated from La Liga.
