Cardiff City have declared an interest in taking Manchester United striker James Wilson on loan.

United are ready to allow the England under-21 front runner to go on loan with an instant recall. Now Cardiff have joined the potential suitors.

Manager Russell Slade said: ''He's a player of strong ability. He's somebody Manchester United think an awful lot about. It would be wrong if nobody turned their heads if there was an availability for James Wilson.''

Well, Rome has formally submitted its bid to host the event.

Bruce 'right man to help Livermore'published at 11:17

    Footbal

    Matt Dean
    BBC Radio Humberside

It felt like a cloud had been lifted at Hull City's KC Stadium on Friday.

Uncertainty over Jake Livermore's future has hung heavy over the club since he was handed his provisional FA and club ban in May. So much so that boss Steve Bruce must have felt his weekly media conferences had become like Groundhog Day, having to field the same questions on the same subject on a weekly basis.

But on Friday, Bruce looked grateful to be able to change the tune. However, he seemed especially keen to get the tone of his message right. He stressed that while Hull were "delighted" to have their £8m midfielder back but that he didn't regret his comments back in May that the player had "let himself down".

Man-management is Bruce's strength so, if lessons are to be learned or if an arm around the shoulders is needed, he is the right man to do it.

Grant Shipcott:  There should be a sarcastic "award" for best dive of the month. Maybe negative press will help kick it out.

Stephen:  Worst case of abuse to referee? Most grotesque nasal and spit discharge of the month?

David Willey's stock continues to rise... careful with that one. It's a third wicket at Headingley for the left-arm seamer, who will be playing there permanently next season having signed for Yorkshire.

Aaron Finch is the latest to go, caught behind, Willey falling over in his follow through. The Australians are 30-3 in the ninth over.

The 38-year-old quarter-back threw four touchdown passes as his New England Patriots beat Pittsburgh 28-21.
