    Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini will be speaking soon ahead of thier match tomorrow, but one Englishman will be hoping to make an impression if he plays, but it will be for the home side.

    18-year-old Mandela Egbo moved from Crystal Palace to Borussia Monchengladbach in the summer, to improve his chances of finding first-team football.

    The right-back, who was part of England's under-17 squad who won the European Championships in Malta in 2014, told the Guardian, external he's hoping he decision will make him a better player in the long run.

    “I’d read that the chances of coming through a club into the senior team were higher here than anywhere else in Europe’s major leagues and their entire system is aimed at youth development. It was a no-brainer," Egbo said.

    Wolfsburg coach Dieter Hecking also spoke about striker Nicklas Bendtner, who he believes can still have a good career despite struggling to be a success at Arsenal and is keen to prove it against his old club.

    Hecking said: "He has reacted very well, we have seen it in training. He did have problems before but he has come on a lot. He is on the right track. Perhaps with less of the extravagance."

    Fifa presidential candidateChung Mong-joonhas called for an emergency congress of football's world governing body, after leader Sepp Blatter was placed under criminal investigation.

    The South Korean tycoon said an "emergency task force" had to be set up to take over Fifa's leadership.

    Blatter was placed under criminal investigation by Swiss prosecutors last week but has since refused to stand down.

    He has said he will leave office when an election is held in February.

    Wayne Rooney served Sir Alex Ferguson at Manchester United for nine years, and the Liverpool-born player says that despite the rift in 2013, Ferguson was "the best manager of all time".

    "He was the reason why I wanted to join Manchester United, to work with him," added Rooney on how hard it was to leave boyhood heroes Everton for United in 2004.

    "For him to be interested in me and want me to come and play under him, there was nowhere else I was going to go."

    Two parrots with a habit of singing the Match of the Day theme tune have been stolen in Middlesbrough.

    The African Greys known as Missy and Snoop Dogg also like to trill along to Laurel and Hardy, Cleveland police force said..

    Anyone who has seen them advertised for sale (or heard them signing Match of the Day) is asked to contact police.

    Wolfsburg coach Dieter Hecking says he prefers reality to dreams before his side's Champions League game against Manchester United on Wednesday.

    Old Trafford is nicknamed the 'Theatre of Dreams' by United - but Hecking is not buying it:

    "I don’t have dreams. I prefer reality. There is a lot of hard work in front of us tomorrow.

    "They did lose their first game, that creates pressure for them. It is up to us to increase it," he added.

    In case you missed it earlier....

    Former Brazil midfielder Ronaldinho has left Fluminense after spending just over two months and playing only nine games for the Rio de Janeiro club.

    The 35-year-old had struggled to get match fit, failed to score a goal and produced only flashes of the talent that made him one of the world's top players when he was in his early 20s.

    Fluminense said that they had agreed to part company with Ronaldinho in an "amicable manner and by mutual agreement".

    Gareth McAuley and Niall McGinn have been named in the Northern Ireland squad to face Greece and Finland in the vital forthcoming Euro 2016 qualifiers despite injury concerns over the duo.

    McAuley missed West Brom's 3-2 home defeat by Everton with a calf strain.

    McGinn picked up a groin injury in Aberdeen's Scottish Premiership defeat by Inverness Caledonian Thistle.

    Northern Ireland need one win or two draws from their final matches to ensure qualification for the finals.

    Graeme Shinnie, Jordan Rhodes and Kevin McDonald have been called up for Scotland's final Euro 2016 qualifiers against Poland and Gibraltar.

    Aberdeen left-back Shinnie, 24, gets a first call-up while Blackburn striker Rhodes, 25, and uncapped Wolves player McDonald, 26, return to the squad.

    Celtic defender Charlie Mulgrew, 29, is in the squad despite a thigh strain.

    The Scots can make the play-offs if they take at least four more points and other Group D results go their way.

    So Manchester United's Wayne Rooney has admitted falling out with Sir Alex Ferguson during his final season in charge, but denies putting in a transfer request.

    Rooney says he went to see Ferguson, who was United manager for 26 years, after being dropped in 2013.

    "It's not just me who's had a fall-out with him," added the forward, 29, in Rooney - The Man Behind The Goals, to be shown on BBC One on 5 October.

    "I don't know what happened or why that came out that way."

    The England captain added: "I went in to see him and just said if you're not going to play me it might be better if I moved on - then all of a sudden it's all over the press I put in a transfer request, which I never did."

    So Wayne Rooney has denied handing in a transfer request in 2013, but he did ask to leave Manchester United in October 2010.

    The former Everton player pulled out of contract talks, saying he had not received "any of the assurances I was seeking about the future squad".

    Ferguson said at the time he was "dumbfounded" by Rooney's desire to leave but, 48 hours later, Rooney signed a new five-year deal.

    United went on to win the title that season, and Rooney later said staying at the club was the best decision of his career.
