    The uncapped duo of Wolves midfielder Kevin McDonald and Aberdeen defender Graeme Shinnie have been called up by Gordon Strachan.

    On McDonald, the Scotland manager says he's "getting better and better and he deserves to be there", while Shinnie is "having a successful season and he can cover other positions".

    The Scotland manager is viewing the first game against Poland as a "game we have to get something from" adding "you could say we've got to win it - although stranger things have happened in football".

    Scotland are four point behind third-placed Ireland with two games to play.

    The Daily Telegraph, external is reporting that Chelsea have handed a trial to former AC Milan goalkeeper Marco Amelia.

    With first choice keeper Thibaut Courtois out until December, manager Jose Mourinho has only Asmir Begovic and 21-year-old Jamal Blackman to call on and wants back-up.

    Amelia,33, has nine caps for Italy.

    At 1530 BST, Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal will address the media in the Europa Suite at Old Trafford.

    Appropriately enough given Wolfsburg are the opposition, with Bastian Schweinsteiger expected to be the player United put forward as required by Champions League regulations.

    Schweinsteiger was sent off the last time a German side played at Old Trafford, a 1-1 quarter-final draw during David Moyes' ill-fated tenure.
