Controversial Romania striker Adrian Mutu is hopeful a strong spell with new club Pune City in the Indian Super League could lead to an unlikely appearance at Euro 2016.

The 36-year-old forward, twice banned for failed drug tests while playing for Fiorentina in Italy and English club Chelsea, will return to competitive action in the ISL next month after more than a year out.

"The Romania coach has told me that if I continue playing football even after ISL then he will consider me for the European Championship next year," Mutu told Emirati outlet Sport360.

"It's a huge motivation for me to keep going and I am taking it very seriously."

So Jose doesn't want a team of Diego Costas, but if you could have 11 of one player to make a team, who would you go for and why? Let's start looking at what you've been sending in...

Colin Graham on Twitter: We all dream of a team of Davie Weir's

Ronnie Pickering: I hate to say this but it would be Wayne Rooney for me, he could play anywhere and do a decent job, even in goal.

Tom Lyons: A team of James McCarthys would be unbeatable. 70% of the earth covered with water, the rest is covered by James McCarthy.

It's all over at the Wuhan Open.

4-6 and 0-1 down to Britain's Johanna Konta, Victoria Azarenka has just retired because of an injury.

A sad way for the match to end but Konta had looked in terrific form and now marches on into the third round.

It means she has won 20 or her last 21 matches since Wimbledon, a stunning run which has seen her overtake Heather Watson to become Britain's number one female tennis player.

And by the looks of today, she has plenty left in the tank.

    Johanna Konta is absolutely flying.

Winner of 19 of her last 20 matches since losing to Russian Maria Sharapova at Wimbledon, the British number one has just taken the first set against Victoria Azarenka at the Wuhan Open.

Azarenka has had her struggles with injury but is still a top quality player, two-time winner of the Australian Open no less.

Konta broke early and took the set 6-4. One more set and she's into the third round.

    A team of Diego Costas?published at 09:11

Jose Mourinho will have striker Diego Costa available for tonight's trip to Porto as the strikers three-match ban does not apply to European games.

In a news conference ahead of the match, the Chelsea boss was asked if he needed 11 Costas on the pitch.

Mourinho answered: "We would lose every game, because the desire to suspend him is so big that we wouldn't have players to start the game.

"I'm happy to have only one and let him play until they decide to suspend him again."

But that whole idea of having a team full of one players leads us on nicely to this...

One man enjoyed Everton's comeback win against West Brom more than most.

A punter won £45,000 from a £5 accumulator bet, external thanks to Roberto Martinez's side sneaking three points.

The as-yet unnamed better already correctly predicted that Liverpool, Reading, Cardiff, Bury and Sheffield United would win their matches.

He needed a Toffees victory for his bet to come in which, at 2-0 down, looked unlikely. But then the comeback - and a big payday.

In 2006, during his first spell in charge, Mourinho described eight of his first-team players - including Terry, Ashley Cole, Frank Lampard and Didier Drogba - "untouchable" because of their form.

"In this moment we have fantastic players, the players that gave us the title last season," Mourinho said.

"But football is not about yesterday. In football you have to be consistent in your performance, in your emotion.

"To be a winner you don't need to win all the time, but to be a winner you must have a strong mentality every game, every day."

Speaking of Chelsea, Jose Mourinho has not been pulling any punches ahead of the Blues game in Porto.

He has warned his players that no one's place is safe if the club's poor start to the season continues.

Manager Jose Mourinho has left John Terry out for the past two Premier League games, while Branislav Ivanovic and Cesc Fabregas have been criticised.

"Untouchables in football - only consistency can give you that status," said Mourinho, whose side are 14th after seven games. "Football is about today. At this moment I don't have untouchables."
