    Life of Riley by The Lightning Seeds?  Down With The Trumpets by Rizzle Kicks? Ever wish you could choose the music for Goal of the month?

    Well now you can - Match of the Day 2 and BBC Radio 1’s Greg James are teaming up to give audiences the chance to choose September’s Goal of the Month soundtrack.   

    From 18:00 BST, Greg will feature three tracks on Radio 1, inviting the audience to choose their favourite via an online vote hosted by Radio 1.

    The winning track will be announced on Greg’s show at 18:00 BST on Thursday 1st October and feature in September’s Goal of the Month feature on Match of the Day 2 on Sunday 4th October at 22:30 BST.

    Sepp Blatter and Michel Platini will avoid coming face-to-face on Friday amid the football corruption scandal, after a Uefa-Fifa match was called off.

    The Fifa president, would usually travel to Platini's Uefa headquarters in Nyon for the friendly, but Fifa told the Associated Press "in a joint decision it was agreed to postpone the Uefa-Fifa challenge 2015, which had been scheduled for Friday, 2 October, until further notice.'' 

    The game would have come a week after a criminal investigation was opened into Blatter in part over a payment in 2011 to Platini.

    Kent have confirmed batsman Sam Northeast as their new club captain, succeeding former England player Rob Key.

    The 25-year-old filled in as skipper for much of the 2015 season while Key was out of the team.

    "Rob and I have got a lot of similar ways in which we view the game. This winter is where I can put my own print on it," he told BBC Radio Kent.

    Jump jockey Aidan Coleman says he's "absolutely fine" but off to the dentist for treatment to two chipped teeth after being punched when two people burst into the riders' changing room at Southwell yesterday. 

    The Professional Jockeys Association has described the incident, following which four arrests were made by Nottinghamshire police, as deeply concerning but it's welcomed the news that racecourse officials have agreed to review and enhance security arrangements.

    The Tanzania Football Federation has banned international defender Juma Said for two years for engaging in an 'act of indecency.'

    The Mbeya City captain was found guilty of poking a finger against the backside of Azam's John Bocco, when the two sides met on 27 September.

    Said, 31, was fined US$930 and summoned by his team for a disciplinary hearing.

    The club has promised to release the results of its investigation before the end of the week.

    England will use criticism from former captain Will Carling to create unity before their crucial World Cup match against Australia, says another ex-skipper Martin Corry.

    Former Southampton striker Brett Ormerod, who played for Southampton in the 2004 FA Cup Final, is set to open a sandwich shop in Blackburn.

    The frontman, 38, who also played for Blackpool and Leeds during a lengthy career, wants - according to The Times, external - to open a Subway shop wit his wife Lisa and has applied for a franchise.

    "People assume all footballers are millionaires, but I'm not," he said. "I don't think Lisa will let me make the sandwiches but I'll do the sweeping up. I've not got an ego; you're not allowed one in my family."
