New Rotherham boss Neil Redfearn says the Millers job is one "most managers would want".

The former Leeds head coach was appointed on Friday as Steve Evans' successor at the New York Stadium.

"It's a forward-thinking club with a chairman that has backed managers," Redfearn told BBC Radio Sheffield. "It was a club I wanted to go after from the off because it has had fantastic success in recent times."

    France (Euro 2004)

Zinedine Zidane, Thierry Henry, Marcel Desailly et al - the irrepressible French team of 2002-03 cruised to a 100% record before meeting - and beating - England in the opening group game.

Remember that? Wayne Rooney was brilliant, Zidane scored twice in the last minute...

But the pesky Greeks put paid to France's chances in the quarter-finals on their way to a remarkable win.

Finalists in 1996, the Czech Republic won all 10 of their qualifiers on the road to Euro 2000, winning their group by a massive 12 points.

However, defeats by co-hosts Netherlands and France meant it was group stage and out for a team including Tomas Rosicky, Pavel Nedved, Jan Koller and Karel Poborsky.

    France (Euro '92)

Played eight, won eight, scored 20, conceded six. France entered Euro 92 in buoyant form and boasting a side of Jean-Pierre Papin, Eric Cantona, Didier Deschamps and Laurent Blanc.

What could go wrong? Everything. The French drew 0-0 with England in a bad-tempered group match before losing to Denmark and it was an early au revoir. Like England, they went out in the group stage.

A big night ahead for the Netherlands, who could fail to reach a major finals for the first time since 2002 as their Euro 2016 qualifying campaign draws to a tense conclusion.

Danny Blind's side must beat the Czech Republic at home tonight, and hope third-placed Turkey lose against Iceland, to secure a play-off place.

"We are still alive and that's what we must focus on," said Blind.

Iceland and Czech Republic are already assured of the two automatic qualification places in Group A.

England's most capped player Peter Shilton has been telling BBC Radio 4's Today programme that creative, young players such as Ross Barkley shouldn't be overly criticised for giving the ball away.

Shilton also said upcoming friendlies against Spain, France, Germany and the Netherlands will be 'really good tests' for England but won't compare to the competitive atmosphere of a tournament.

Listen to some of what Shilton had to say here.

It would be wrong at this point to use a picture of Shilton's most infamous moment. But, hey, let's, do it anyway...

Peter Graham: Talking of form..... Alan Shearer never scored an England goal for almost a year before euro 96. He single handily dragged England to the semi-finals with his 5 goals.... would have been a different tournament for England had el tel left him out due to "form".

David: England would be mad to leave him out. He may be out of form, but he is still the best player you have.

Linton Vickers, external: Rooney has been struggling for form of late you can’t blame him blame his club but he can come good at the finals.
