Philipp Lahm says his Bayern Munich side is 'focused, not wounded' ahead of their Champions League clash at home to Arsenal on Wednesday.

Bayern suffered their only defeat of the season at the Emirates Stadium a fortnight ago when they lost 2-0 to the Gunners.

Lahm said: "Why should we be wounded? We're focused, but we have no reason to be wounded.

"We are top of the Bundesliga and our Champions League group, you can't get much better than that.

"We're playing at home, it's a top game and we want a win to consolidate our place at the top of the table."

West Brom bossTony Pulisadmitted he had a "bit of a go" at referee Anthony Taylor in the tunnel after his side's 3-2 defeat by Leicester.

Pulis was angry at his side not getting two penalties for fouls on Jonny Evans and Darren Fletcher.

However, Pulis says he he will speak to referees' chief Mike Riley about Taylor's decisions in the game.

West Brom head coach Tony Pulis have been charged by the FA for improper conduct.

Pulis is alleged to have used language and/or behaviour in or around the tunnel area after his side's Premier League defeat by Leicester City on Saturday.

He has until 18:00 GMT on Thursday 5 November to respond to the charge.

More on the news that Frenchman Remi Garde has been appointed Aston Villa manager.

Aston Villa have appointed Remi Garde as their new manager until the end of the 2018-19 season.

Leeds Fans United chief executive Dylan Thwaites believes they are the only group to whom Massimo Cellino is willing to sell his majority stake in the club.

New Aston Villa boss Remi Garde was scheduled to fly from Lyon to Birmingham earlier on Monday but his flight was delayed by fog. Instead he will be departing shortly on a private jet for London Luton and will head straight to White Hart Lane.

Villa face Tottenham later on Monday.

Manchester United are on a barren run and have failed to score in their last three games in all competitions.

"It was not always a big Theatre of Dreams. I am sorry to say that but it is logical also," said manager Louis van Gaal. "Now we are making, hopefully, history but it takes time. 

"Now we are the best defenders of the Premier League, you say we cannot attack and it's not true. It's only a moment in a process. It's a bad period when you don't score. Football is scoring goals."  

Louis van Gaal begins by talking about Manchester United winger Memphis Depay, who has had a difficult time with his club recently and has now been left out of the Netherlands side.

"I have said he is the greatest talent of his age but he is only 21 and you cannot expect consistency," said the manager.

"He is at a stage of his career where he must adapt to many things. I'm convinced he's coming back maybe stronger than before but we have to give him time, like we will with Anthony Martial when he is a little bit lower in his shape."

Swindon Town owner Lee Power has confirmed that a new manager will be appointed by the club on Tuesday.

"It is just a case of tying up a few loose ends," said Power, who has been in charge of the first team since sacking Mark Cooper on 17 October.
