Leicester director of rugby Richard Cockerill says the club remain in talks with Manu Tuilagi over a new contract - and says the deal would make the England centre one of the highest paid in the world.

However - and this may be worrying for Tigers fans - it seems a deal is far from done.

"There's lots of rugby left in him, there's another 10 years left in Manu, and certainly in the next three years we'd like him to be here," said Cockerill.

“He wants to stay. We're made an offer that would make him up there with the highest paid players in the world.

“There's always other distractions. It's always flattering when you get courted by other people and we just have to be patient."
