New Zealand's Ross Taylor has been chatting after he hit the highest score by a visiting batsman in Australia during the second Test at the Waca.

After chalking up 290 runs, he said: "I'm obviously disappointed not to get 300. I put too much pressure on myself. Sometimes you try too hard and don't get the results but it's chalk and cheese from a week ago."

Taylor, who was out for a duck and 26 runs in the first Test in Brisbane, has recently recovered from a testicular injury after being hit while batting in the nets.

Accrington's game against Newport County should have been called off at half-time, says Stanley manager John Coleman.

Heavy downpours before and during Saturday's game at the Wham Stadium caused the ball to hold up in certain areas.

Stanley twice came from behind in the match as Matt Crooks tapped in his seventh goal of the season late on in the 2-2 draw.

"It was difficult for both sides," Coleman, 53, told BBC Radio Lancashire.

"The ref should be congratulated for getting the game finished but it became a lottery and I think it should have been called off at half-time."

"Andy Murray will begin a hectic end to the season when he takes on David Ferrer at the ATP World Tour Finals in London at 14:00 GMT - with the match live on BBC2, 5 live sports extra and the BBC Sport website.

"Murray's last appearance at the O2 Arena was a 6-0 6-1 drubbing by Roger Federer 12 months ago, equaling his worst loss as a professional.

“The Briton said: 'I don’t feel like I have to prove anything to anybody. It was obviously a tough way for me to finish the year but I gained something positive from it.

“'I went away and worked extremely hard on my game, and came back and have had the most consistent year of my life, so I don’t feel like that match affected me in a negative way at all.'”

Here we have a blast from the past - Gabor Kiraly. He was the Crystal Palace goalkeeper who loved a pair of tracksuit bottoms (and rubbish tracksuit bottoms at that).

Anyway, at 39, he's only gone and helped Hungary reach Euro 2016 as they overcame Norway in the play-offs last night.

It's the Republic of Ireland's chance tonight as they take on Bosnia at home, currently level at 1-1 on aggregate.

    Rugby Union

Stuart Lancaster's successor is yet to be named but former England fly-half Toby Flood has some advice for the next coach on how to solve the country's perennial centre pairing problem.

"There is a guy called Henry Slade, who for me would be an absolute shoo-in for that number 12 spot," said Flood, whose Toulouse side lost 32-7 to Saracens on Saturday.

"I would play Slade at 12, put Manu Tuilagi at 13 and just watch them make other teams look pretty average, because they are both very good."

France should not host Euro 2016 in the wake of the Paris attacks, according to 1958 World Cup star Just Fontaine.

The 82-year-old was at the Stade de France on Friday when the stadium was one of the venues targeted in attacks across the French capital.

"I think France should forego the tournament," Fontaine said in quotes reported by German newspaper Die Welt. "I am very afraid that this black Friday could be repeated. I think we cannot guarantee the safety that is required to host such a big event."
