Wales second-row Luke Charteris is in talks with Bath over a possible move to the English Premiership side for next season, BBC Wales Sport understands.

Charteris, 32, left Dragons for Perpigan in 2012 and then signed for Racing 92 in 2014 on a two-year deal.

The 62-cap 6ft 9in player, who is out of contract at the end of the season, played in all five of Wales’ games at the 2015 Rugby World Cup.

Newport Gwent Dragons coach Kingsley Jones has said he would like to re-sign Charteris, but admitted they are unlikely to outbid English or French clubs.

    Attacks were 'sickening'published at 14:42

    Football

England captain Wayne Rooney: "First of all, when I saw the images and the footage, it was sickening. It’s a sad time and in terms of going on the pitch we can only do that in the understanding that all the security checks have been made and it's safe to do so. Unless we are told otherwise we are assuming that we are right and ready to play.

"You never know what can happen but we have to assume we are safe on the pitch and hope we don’t have a repeat of what happened on Friday night."

England manager Roy Hodgson: "Our players were like everyone in the world - they were devastated by the news. We would have been perfectly content if because of the events the game had been called off. We have tried to do our best to prepare accordingly. I don't think there is anyone who would have said they did not want to play the game. There was an enormous amount of empathy between players but not enough for players to come to me and say they didn't want to play."

England captain Wayne Rooney: “I’ve said over the last 18 months I've been very excited by this team, there are a lot of younger players in the squad and it's a great opportunity for them. So many young players starting the game is a big challenge against a good French team so we need to be together and try and put our game plan into effect."

England manager Roy Hodgson: "We have six players under the age of 22. I would rather have had the players available for Euro 2016 available for this match so we wouldn’t have to go too far down the experimental route, but it is experimental from our point of view, and we have to make sure we play the best the game possible.

"We can’t deny that there is something over this game that is far greater than football and I can't imagine how this game is going to go because I've not been in this situation before. The game is to go ahead and we will prepare and try to play the best game we can play but we can't deny there are other issue at stake."
