Match facts
Stoke v Sheffield Wednesday (19:45 GMT)
Stoke City have reached this stage in two of the last three seasons - they were beaten 2-0 by Manchester United in December 2013.
This is Sheffield Wednesday's best performance in the League Cup since making it to the semi-finals in 2001-02, losing to eventual winners Blackburn Rovers.
Stoke are winless in four matches in all competitions against Sheffield Wednesday, losing each of the last two at the Britannia Stadium.
The Owls have progressed from two of their three League Cup ties v Stoke City, though this is their first meeting in this competition since September 1999.
What the managers say
Stoke v Sheffield Wednesday (19:45 GMT)
Stoke boss Mark Hughes: "We won't underestimate Sheffield Wednesday in any way, shape or form. If you look at their progression in the competition they have beaten two Premier League sides already.
"[But] we're at home and when the draw was made if we're honest enough we can say they were one of the teams we wanted to have."
Sheffield Wednesday head coach Carlos Carvalhal: "It will be cold and there will be rain probably. It's not a good day to go to the football. There will be 4,000 fans in the rain and cold and they pay for a ticket to see us play. This means we must play to them.
"We will give 300%, give everything on the pitch and we will do that."

Stoke will be without skipper Ryan Shawcross for the League Cup quarter-final after he was dismissed in the loss to Sunderland.
Shay Given (knee) and Marc Muniesa (hamstring) are also unavailable.
Sheffield Wednesday head coach Carlos Carvalhal is without key midfielder Barry Bannan (knee) for the trip to the Potteries.
Youngster Joe Wildsmith is likely to start in goal, while loan striker Gary Hooper is also eligible.
Match facts
Middlesbrough v Everton (19:45 GMT)
Middlesbrough have twice made the quarter-final stage of the League Cup since lifting the trophy in 2004, losing to Blackburn in 2005-06 and Swansea City in 2012-13 (both 1-0).
This is the furthest Everton have got in the League Cup since 2007-08, eventually losing in the semi-final that season to Chelsea.
Boro have won the last two League Cup ties against Everton, beating them on penalties in round four in December 2003, and 1-0 in round three in October 2005.
The Toffees are unbeaten in six matches in all competitions v Boro, winning four and drawing two. The last time they met, Everton were 2-1 victors in an FA Cup quarter-final clash.
What the managers say
Middlesbrough v Everton (19:45 GMT)
PACopyright: PA
Middlesbrough boss Aitor Karanka: "To be over-confident would be a big mistake. That can be our biggest problem - to think that because we beat Manchester City and Manchester United and played well against Liverpool and Arsenal, the game will be easy.
"The reason we did well against those teams is that we worked hard for 90 minutes or more."
Everton manager Roberto Martinez: "In this competition I don't think divisional status gives you a benefit.
"You need to be ready for the game with a clear understanding of how to perform. Clearly the mentality in our camp is to be ready - we can't not be ready after the feeling at the weekend [drew 3-3 at Bournemouth]."
Team news
Middlesbrough v Everton (19:45 GMT)
Everton boss Roberto Martinez will give James McCarthy (groin) and Gareth Barry (shin) late fitness checks for the League Cup quarter-final against Middlesbrough.
Martinez also confirmed keeper Joel Robles will start in goal.
Aitor Karanka has a full-strength Boro squad to choose from after their 2-0 win over Huddersfield on Saturday.
Striker Cristhian Stuani could make his first start since he recovered from an injury sustained on international duty.

Match facts
Manchester City v Hull (19:45 GMT)
Manchester City have lost just one of their last nine meetings with Hull in all competitions (W5 D3).
Hull's only victory in any competition away against Manchester City came in the FA Cup in 1930, defeating them 2-1 in round five. Since then, they are winless in nine visits (D3 L6).
The only previous League Cup tie between the two sides came in October 1963, as Manchester City ran out 3-0 winners in round three.
This is unchartered territory for Hull, having never made it past round four of the League Cup before this season.
What the managers say
Manchester City v Hull (19:45 GMT)
EPACopyright: EPA
Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini: "We are going to make some changes but not so many as Pablo Zabaleta, Vincent Kompany, Eliaquim Mangala and Samir Nasri are all out of this game.
"Maybe for teams that are out of some competitions - the Champions League or the Capital One Cup - it is easier to play in the Premier League. But we always want to continue in all the competitions."
Hull boss Steve Bruce: "We have got to have the belief that we can go and take them on. Last year in the Premier League we caused them a few problems.
"Up until Friday we hadn't been beaten for four months. We've had a really consistent run - we've only lost three out of 22 games, and so we can feel a bit confident. Once it gets to this stage everybody takes it seriously."
Team news
Manchester City v Hull (19:45 GMT)

Manchester City playmaker David Silva could make his first start in nearly two months in the League Cup quarter-final against Hull.
Manuel Pellegrini brought him on against Southampton and is not due to make any major changes from that side, with keeper Joe Hart still injured.
Hull have defender Andy Robertson back after a one-match ban but Michael Dawson (hamstring) remains absent.
Winger Robert Snodgrass could make his first appearance of the season.

Snooker
A round of applause for repeatedly missing a pot? It may sound strange, but that was the reality of this rather bizarre passage of play from the UK Championship.

No positive tests at World Cup
Rugby Union
Organisers say no positive tests have been recorded from nearly 500 doping samples collected during the recent Rugby Union World Cup.
World Rugby said 468 urine and blood tests were carried out across all 20 teams, with 200 in-competition samples and 268 out-of-competition.
Samples were analysed at the World Anti-Doping Agency-accredited laboratory at King's College in London and will be stored for possible future re-analysis.

Indian cricket faces fine
Cricket
Indian cricket authorities face a fine of up to $15,000 (£9,950) after the pitch used for the third Test between India and South Africa in Nagpur was rated as "poor" by match referee Jeff Crowe.
Forty wickets fell in three days at the VCA Stadium as India beat South Africa by 124 runs with more than two days to spare in the low-scoring contest to take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the four-match series.

The report has been forwarded to the Indian cricket board (BCCI), which now has 14 days to respond. After that, ICC general manager of cricket Geoff Allardice and chief match referee Ranjan Madugalle will rule whether the pitch was poor and whether it warrants a penalty.

Manchester City get £265m investment
Football
More on the news that a Chinese consortium is set to invest £265m ($400m) in Manchester City.
The deal equates to a 13% stake in the club's umbrella organisation, City Football Group, which includes teams in New York, Melbourne and Yokohama - effectively valuing the business at £2bn.
The investment comes after Chinese President Xi Jinping visited City during a four-day state visit to Britain in October.
"Our belief is that we now have an unrivalled platform to grow CFG, our clubs and companies both in China and internationally, and we will be working hard with our new partners to realize the potential that this deal creates,'' City chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak said.

Murray critical of LTA
Tennis

Andy Murray says talking to the Lawn Tennis Association about the future of British tennis is a waste of his time.
"Nothing ever gets done and I don't like wasting my time," he said after leading GB to Davis Cup success at the weekend.
The Scot added he has not discussed the lack of young British players competing in Grand Slams with LTA chief executive Michael Downey.
"I don't speak to any of the people who are in a high-up position about that," Murray revealed. "I haven't really spoken to them about anything. It's concerning not to have any juniors in the grand slams because that is something we were always very good at. It's not ideal."

Big news coming out of Manchester City this morning with the club revealing a $400m investment from China.
I am told this should not be regarded as the start of an exit strategy from the current owners and that Sheik Mansour remains 100% committed to the club.

What it will do is open doors to a commercial market generally recognised as one of those that offers huge opportunities for growth.
It is also worth noting City are now worth approximately 10 times more than when Sheik Mansour bought it in 2008.
Monk needs to wake up - Roberts

Former Wales striker Iwan Roberts has told BBC Radio Wales that manager Garry Monk should face up to the fact that Swansea are in a Premier League relegation battle.

But Roberts said: "He needs to wake up, I think, because they're right in it, they really are. For him to say they're not in a relegation fight - they're four points from the bottom three - they're right in amongst it."

Stoke v Sheffield Wednesday (19:45 GMT)
Team news
Stoke v Sheffield Wednesday (19:45 GMT)
What the managers say
Middlesbrough v Everton (19:45 GMT)
What the managers say
Manchester City v Hull (19:45 GMT)
