Stoke v Sheffield Wednesday (19:45 GMT)
Stoke v Sheffield Wednesday (19:45 GMT)
Stoke boss Mark Hughes: "We won't underestimate Sheffield Wednesday in any way, shape or form. If you look at their progression in the competition they have beaten two Premier League sides already.
"[But] we're at home and when the draw was made if we're honest enough we can say they were one of the teams we wanted to have."
Sheffield Wednesday head coach Carlos Carvalhal: "It will be cold and there will be rain probably. It's not a good day to go to the football. There will be 4,000 fans in the rain and cold and they pay for a ticket to see us play. This means we must play to them.
"We will give 300%, give everything on the pitch and we will do that."
Stoke v Sheffield Wednesday (19:45 GMT)
Stoke will be without skipper Ryan Shawcross for the League Cup quarter-final after he was dismissed in the loss to Sunderland.
Shay Given (knee) and Marc Muniesa (hamstring) are also unavailable.
Sheffield Wednesday head coach Carlos Carvalhal is without key midfielder Barry Bannan (knee) for the trip to the Potteries.
Youngster Joe Wildsmith is likely to start in goal, while loan striker Gary Hooper is also eligible.
Middlesbrough v Everton (19:45 GMT)
Middlesbrough v Everton (19:45 GMT)
Middlesbrough boss Aitor Karanka: "To be over-confident would be a big mistake. That can be our biggest problem - to think that because we beat Manchester City and Manchester United and played well against Liverpool and Arsenal, the game will be easy.
"The reason we did well against those teams is that we worked hard for 90 minutes or more."
Everton manager Roberto Martinez: "In this competition I don't think divisional status gives you a benefit.
"You need to be ready for the game with a clear understanding of how to perform. Clearly the mentality in our camp is to be ready - we can't not be ready after the feeling at the weekend [drew 3-3 at Bournemouth]."
Middlesbrough v Everton (19:45 GMT)
Everton boss Roberto Martinez will give James McCarthy (groin) and Gareth Barry (shin) late fitness checks for the League Cup quarter-final against Middlesbrough.
Martinez also confirmed keeper Joel Robles will start in goal.
Aitor Karanka has a full-strength Boro squad to choose from after their 2-0 win over Huddersfield on Saturday.
Striker Cristhian Stuani could make his first start since he recovered from an injury sustained on international duty.
Manchester City v Hull (19:45 GMT)
Manchester City v Hull (19:45 GMT)
Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini: "We are going to make some changes but not so many as Pablo Zabaleta, Vincent Kompany, Eliaquim Mangala and Samir Nasri are all out of this game.
"Maybe for teams that are out of some competitions - the Champions League or the Capital One Cup - it is easier to play in the Premier League. But we always want to continue in all the competitions."
Hull boss Steve Bruce: "We have got to have the belief that we can go and take them on. Last year in the Premier League we caused them a few problems.
"Up until Friday we hadn't been beaten for four months. We've had a really consistent run - we've only lost three out of 22 games, and so we can feel a bit confident. Once it gets to this stage everybody takes it seriously."
Manchester City v Hull (19:45 GMT)
Manchester City playmaker David Silva could make his first start in nearly two months in the League Cup quarter-final against Hull.
Manuel Pellegrini brought him on against Southampton and is not due to make any major changes from that side, with keeper Joe Hart still injured.
Hull have defender Andy Robertson back after a one-match ban but Michael Dawson (hamstring) remains absent.
Winger Robert Snodgrass could make his first appearance of the season.
With around two hours to go until tonight's League Cup fixtures kick off, we're switching gears and looking ahead to the football for the remainder of Sportsday.
Snooker
A round of applause for repeatedly missing a pot? It may sound strange, but that was the reality of this rather bizarre passage of play from the UK Championship.
Needing snookers, Shaun Murphy is forced to try to keep the ball in play while Ben Woollaston attempts to make him pot it - with hilarious consequences.
Squash
England are one of six teams who have pulled out of the World Men's Squash Team Championships in Cairo because of fears over security.
France, Germany, Finland, Canada and the USA are the others to withdraw from the event, which starts on 12 December.
"The safety of our players and staff remains our only priority and, at this time, we have real concerns," said England Squash chief, Keir Worth.
Rugby Union
Organisers say no positive tests have been recorded from nearly 500 doping samples collected during the recent Rugby Union World Cup.
World Rugby said 468 urine and blood tests were carried out across all 20 teams, with 200 in-competition samples and 268 out-of-competition.
Samples were analysed at the World Anti-Doping Agency-accredited laboratory at King's College in London and will be stored for possible future re-analysis.

Swansea City have frozen their season ticket prices for the 2016-17 season, with Premier League clubs set to receive record income from television rights from next year.

Great Britain have qualified in first place from their group at the Hockey World League Final after a 3-3 draw with Belgium.
Phil Roper, Ali Brogdon and Alan Forsyth were all on target to send GB through to a quarter-final against host nation India.
Show jumping
British show jumping star Scott Brash admits he will never feel satisfied without an individual Olympic gold medal.
Brash, who earlier this year became the first rider to win the Rolex Grand Slam, won team gold alongside Ben Maher, Nick Skelton and Peter Charles at London 2012 but no British show jumper has ever triumphed at the Olympics in an individual event.
"Winning the individual event in Rio would be an amazing achievement," he said. "I really don't want Olympic gold to be something that eludes me for the rest of my life."
