But we're far from done with the news conferences here on Sportsday and up next we have Newcastle, Southampton and Swansea.

That'll hopefully give enough time for our reporter Simon Stone to make it across Manchester.

Man City boss Manuel Pellegrini has given his view on the transfer bans for Real Madrid and Atletico, which could lead to them targeting Premier League stars in this transfer window.

"I don't know what will happen," said Pellegrini. "It will not be easy for both clubs.

"They are clubs who always wants to buy top players. The problem we will see now.

"We are thinking about what happens now. Not what will happen in the future."

Man City captain Vincent Kompany is still out injured, but Manuel Pellegrini says his team are not over-reliant on their skipper.

"We won the six games without Vincent at the end of last season," he said. "We had four clean sheets.

"He still and our captain and a very important player. But the quality of this squad it that we don't just rely on one player.

"One of the things this team is not is predictable. We have so many different ways of playing, with a striker, without a striker.

"I think we will continue being the highest scoring team in the Premier League."

With two games in one week there is not much progress on Man City's injury list but boss Manuel Pellegrini believes star striker Sergio Aguero is nearly back to his best.

"Our injuries are exactly the same from the last game," he says. "Eliaquim Mangala, Wilfried Bony Fernandinho, Vincent Kompany and Samir Nasri are still out.

"Sergio Aguero is very near to his best. He is making all the movement. That means his body is OK.

"I hope he will continue playing the way he did in the last two games. He had a lot of good moments against Everton. He is 100% fit."

Ben Hall: Leeds Utd are Shane MacGowan.. Used to be dangerous, fearless and successful, now a shambolic shadow of their former self..

A very open and relaxed Alan Pardew ahead of Palace's game at Manchester City. He admitted that they have put in numerous calls to buy a striker and are trying.

Emmanuel Adebayor is on their radar, it's a question of whether the club is right for him and if he's right for the club. But it's a definite possibility.

They have also had phone calls about Dwight Gayle but have received no bids.

Crystal Palace news conferencepublished at 13:10

Man City v Crystal Palace (Sat, 15:00 GMT)

A surprising Premier League season has seen the lesser teams upset the odds on a number of occasions, most notably Leicester who are challenging for the title.

"We have all been waiting for Leicester's run to come to an end, but it hasn't," said Alan Pardew. "They got a great win at Spurs, it doesn't look like it's ending.

"The quality of that mid group has improved. Stoke, ourselves, Leicester of course. The top clubs are struggling to deal with it a little.

"We want to keep upsetting the odds, and this would be upsetting the odds if we could beat City."
