Norwich sign Klose

Timm Klose, 27, featured against England in Switzerland’s recent Euro 2016 qualifying campaign as they finished runners-up to Roy Hodgson’s side.

Klose said: "It was always a dream to play in the Premier League and Norwich have given me a big chance. Now I want to give everything I can to be a good player in this league."

Timm Klose joins Norwich on a three-and-a-half year contract for an undisclosed fee. 

The Switzerland defender played for Wolfsburg against Manchester United in the Champions League last month.

Norwich manager Alex Neil said: "Timm has got plenty of experience having played in the Bundesliga, in the Champions League and for his country, which will be an asset to us. "As a player, he’s got good technical ability and he’s solid in the air. He can also play at either right centre-back or left centre-back."

Watford are in a similar position to Swansea this time last year; it's a reminder how fortunes can fluctuate in the unforgiving nature of the Premier League.

The decision to hire Quique Sanchez Flores at Vicarage Road has been vindicated. The Spaniard has dismissed that notion of 'no Premier League experience' with his astute tactical nous, a willing set of players and the harnessing of a similar spirit to that he enjoyed when he was boss at Getafe, who comfortably survived in La Liga after their promotion 11 years ago.

Watford are determined to establish themselves as a Premier League club and a return of 29 points means the safety mark is almost within sight.

Swansea host Watford in the Premier League at 20:00 GMT and here is the team news:

Swansea defender Kyle Naughton is available after he won his appeal against the red card he received in the defeat by Sunderland on Wednesday, meaning Alan Curtis has a full squad to choose from.

Watford will have defender Nathan Ake available again after a three-match suspension and he is expected to replace Jose Holebas at left-back. Defenders Tommie Hoban and Joel Ekstrand remain unavailable with respective groin and knee injuries.

Lee agrees Colchester loan move

West Ham forward Elliot Lee has joined Colchester United on loan until the end of the season.

The 21-year-old, who had a previous loan spell with the U's in 2013, is the son of former England midfielder Rob Lee.

All change for Newport

Newport host Blackburn in Monday's rearranged FA Cup third-round tie, with the winners going to Oxford.

The tie was postponed nine days ago because of a waterlogged pitch at Rodney Parade.

Newport have changed manager since then, with John Sheridan leaving for Oldham and Warren Feeney replacing him.

Rovers will be without defender Shane Duffy (groin) for three weeks, while Simeon Jackson cannot play because he was not signed before the first tie.

Shakers to avoid winding-up petition

Bury do not expect to go to court to answer a winding-up petition brought by HM Revenue and Customs.

The matter was due to be heard on 15 February, but the club have told BBC Radio Manchester they have paid the debt and the matter has been settled.

Stoke chairman condemns chants

Stoke City chairman Peter Coates has condemned a "minority" of Stoke fans who subjected Arsenal's Aaron Ramsey to chants during Sunday's 1-1 draw at the Britannia Stadium.

Ramsey broke his leg in a challenge with Stoke captain Ryan Shawcross six years ago.

Coates told the Guardian said: “You’re telling me something that I’m completely unaware of. I’ve no idea that chant had taken place, but we wouldn’t approve of it at all.

“I don’t think it’s a minority of fans; I know it’s a minority. People chant all sorts of awful things at all sorts of grounds, which I dislike. But do I approve of that sort of chanting? Of course I don’t.”

'A typical Italian'

Former Leeds United, Bologna and Sweden defender Teddy Lucic has told the BBC's World Service that his former boss in Italy Franceso Guidolin is “strict and short tempered…a typical Italian.”

Guiodlin has been appointed as the new Swansea head coach alongside Alan Curtis.

"He was quite popular at Bologna, he gets very involved in the game and doesn’t just sit still on the sidelines. I think he will do good."

New Swansea head coach Francesco Guidolin will work alongside manager Alan Curtis at the Liberty Stadium.

Swansea are 18th in the league, two points from safety.

Guidolin said: "At the moment it’s not a good situation for the club, but we have a good team. 

“In Italy, I helped my team finish in a good position in the table, and that’s what I hope to achieve here at Swansea. 

“At the moment everything is new to me, so I need three or four days to talk to the staff and players. After that, I will have a precise idea of things. 

“Alan Curtis is a legend at Swansea, and this is important for me. He knows everything about the club.”

Mignolet signs new deal

Simon Mignolet joined Liverpool in June 2013 and has made 122 appearances since his move from Sunderland.

The 27-year-old has also won 17 caps for Belgian.

Mignolet told Liverpoolfc.com: “I know signing a new contract comes with new responsibility. I’m getting older as well and coming into the years where people would say those are the years a keeper is at his best.

“I know with a long-term contract, you get more responsibility – and I want to take up that role because I’m the sort of character that wants to be a leader, wants to speak in the dressing room and wants to help the defence."
