    New Zealand v Pakistan

New Zealand were let off the hook by Pakistan as they fought back to win the first one-day international in Wellington by 70 runs.

The Black Caps collapsed to 99 for six batting first, before some late-innings hitting from Henry Nicholls - who top scored with 82 - got them to 280 for 8 after their 50 overs.

Impressive bowling from Trent Boult and Grant Elliott, then ensured Pakistan's response never gained any momentum and they were restricted to 210 all out in 46 overs.

Northampton Saints boss Jim Mallinder has admitted it was a "big ask" to expect his 19-year-old son Harry to play against Scarlets in the Champions Cup.

Mallinder Jr, playing at centre, scored a try as Saints won 22-10 to progress to the last eight.

"He's not played in the Premiership yet so it was a big ask to play in Europe. But we've seen what he can do. He's been doing it for a long time but matured, particularly over the last year," said his father.

'The last few days have been tough'published at 11:12

    Australian Open

Andy Murray has been doing the traditional post-match on-court interview with Jim Courier.

"Bernard fought right to the end and made it very tough for me, but I was just able to make a few more balls," says the triumphant British number one. "It was a bit of a scrappy match, a bit up and down."

Courier asks if it has been a difficult time, a reference to his father-in-law's illness (Nigel Sears, Kim's father, collapsed earlier in the tournament).

"The last few days have been very tough," agrees Murray. "A lot of emotions, things changing all the time in my head, so it has been stressful. So it was good to get through today and hopefully I can relax in the next couple of days and get prepared for the next game."

That will be against David Ferrer, on Wednesday.

Grand news. Andy Murray has joined Johanna Konta in the Australian Open quarter-finals.

The Brit made short work of Bernard Tomic, winning in straight sets, 6-4 6-4 7-6.

The third and final set was the toughest, Murray requiring a tie-break (won 7-4) to finish off his man.

Murray next plays David Ferrer. Could be a tricky one though - the Spaniard is yet to drop a set in the entire tournament.
