Mohammad Amir took a hat-trick for Karachi Kings in their Pakistan Super League match against Lahore Qalandars.

The 23-year-old seamer, who was booed on his return for Pakistan in January after serving a five-year ban for spot-fixing, finished with figures of 3-27.

Amir removed Dwayne Bravo, Zohaib Khan and Kevon Cooper in the second game of the inaugural Twenty20 tournament.

West Indies batsman Chris Gayle made only six as Lahore were restricted to 125-8 in 20 overs in Dubai.

Amir was released from prison in 2012 after serving half of a six-month sentence for his part in a spot-fixing scam also involving Pakistan team-mates Salman Butt and Mohammad Asif against England at Lord's in 2010.

Pedro trained this morning and will be assessed but has "no big problems."

No bid for Oscarpublished at 14:02 Greenwich Mean Time 5 February 2016

    Football

Chelsea boss Guus Hiddink is the latest in today's long line of managers addressing the media.

On the back of reports that a Chinese Super League club have made a bid for Blues midfielder Oscar, Hiddink says the club have no knowledge of any interest in buying Oscar from China.

On China flexing its financial muscles by the country's transfer record being broken for the third time in 10 days after Jiangsu Suning spent £38.4m on Alex Teixeira.

"It's a concern, they are serious about getting into international football but it's not just about buying big stars," said Hiddink. "They need to bring in qualified people and have academies."

  6. Injuries won't hurt Ireland - Howleypublished at 13:57 Greenwich Mean Time 5 February 2016

Ireland's injury crisis could motivate them for their Six Nations opener against Wales, says Wales attack coach Rob Howley.

Coach Joe Schmidt is without at least six front-line players as his team start their defence of the title.

And attack coach Howley believes the way Wales coped with injuries in the World Cup shows what can be done.

"The players were able to adapt and apply themselves. I've got no doubt Ireland will be the same," he said.

"It gives you a stronger belief in yourself to go out and prove other people wrong."

Kompany closes in on returnpublished at 13:51 Greenwich Mean Time 5 February 2016

Man City v Leicester (12:45 GMT)

Manchester City's game against Leicester will be too soon for captain Vincent Kompany's comeback but the centre-back is close to a return after a lengthy spell on the sidelines with a calf injury.

Kompany, along with Wilfried Bony, Kevin De Bruyne, Eliaquim Mangala, Samir Nasri and Jesus Navas, will all be sidelined for the visit of the Foxes.

“Kompany and Mangala both started working partially with the squad - unfortunately Mangala has another injury and he’ll be another couple of weeks,” says Pellegrini.

“I hope after another week, Vincent will be back working with the squad fully.

“We know exactly what happened with the injury to Vincent now. The risk for the future is exactly the same as it is with every player. It’s important now for Vincent to start playing again as we have just 14 senior players. That’s not so many for so many games."

Pellegrini in combative moodpublished at 13:41 Greenwich Mean Time 5 February 2016

    Simon Stone
    BBC Sport

"An unusually busy press conference at Manchester City this afternoon - and Manuel Pellegrini was in unsually combative mood.

"After Monday's bombshell that he will leave the Etihad Stadium at the end of the season, to be replaced by Pep Guardiola, Pellegrini is on a roll.

"Today he was launching a broadside at the Football Association, who are considering switching City's FA Cup fifth round tie at Chelsea to Sunday, 19 February for TV purposes.

"That is three days before City head to Dynamo Kiev for a Champions League last-16 tie.

"Pellegrini feels the turnaround is too tight and has threatened to play his kids.

    "FA - over to you."

Manchester City host Leicester in Saturday's top-of-the-table Premier League game, with the Foxes in first place and three points ahead of their rivals.

“It’s not the biggest game of the season so far - we can win or lose this game and the Premier League will not end here," said Pellegrini.

"We have 39 more points to fight for. You cannot think you’re champion if you win and if you lose, there are lots more points.

“It’s a good game, a big game but not decisive.”

    'I was so bored'published at 13:27 Greenwich Mean Time 5 February 2016

Man City v Leicester (Saturday, 12:45 GMT)

Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini gets a bit of stick for his pre-match press conferences being a bit dull but he certainly livened up his last one by finishing off with the news he was leaving the club in the summer.

Pellegrini said he was "bored last time" so decided "to say something interesting".

However, he doesn't want to talk about his departure with City challenging for four trophies and a top-of-the-table game against Leicester on Saturday.

“It’s it’s important for everyone to know that I know what was happening and that no-one was doing anything behind my back,” said Pellegrini.

“It’s important to talk about this season and not the next one. I’m not talking about those things - we just talk about the present. Just ask me about the team and the game."

BBC Sport football expert Mark Lawrenson takes on Dad's Army stars Blake Harrison and Daniel Mays this week.

Harrison, who playsPrivate Pike,is a Millwall fan. Mays, who plays Private Walker, supports Leyton Orient and says his stand-out memory of following the O's is from the FA Cup rather than the "ups and downs" of lower-league football.

He explained: "It was against Arsenal in the FA Cup third round in 2011. We were sitting right next to their fans and one of them clocked me from the telly, and was giving it to me all game, lots of banter shouting things along the lines of 'you're a terrible actor'.

"Then we equalised in stoppage time and it was just the most sensational goal to celebrate, but I did not care about that, I was just giving it back to him."

Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe says it would be hard "to find a better goalkeeper" anywhere on current form than Artur Boruc.

The 35-year-old Poland international has kept three cleans sheets in his last seven games and helped the Cherries move seven points clear of the bottom three.

"You need one who is making saves and winning you points and I think Artur has done that in recent weeks," Howe said.
