'Everyone wanting to see me muck up'published at 09:11 Greenwich Mean Time 5 February 2016

    Rugby Union

England will get their Six Nations campaign under way on Saturday with a game against Scotland and with new captain Dylan Hartley at the helm.

Hartley says he has "never prepared for a game so well" as he has for the match because people want him to fail.

The 29-year-old Northampton hooker, who has been banned for a total of 54 weeks, has succeeded Chris Robshaw as captain for the Six Nations.

"The captaincy thing, the whole media circus - the sideshow that I don't really want to do but I understand that I have got to do - and everyone wanting to see me muck up is making me prepared for this game in a good way," he said.

Wilder would fight Fury in Englandpublished at 09:05 Greenwich Mean Time 5 February 2016

    Boxing

Undefeated WBC champion Deontay Wilder has told Tyson Fury he is prepared to fight him in England if the Briton wins his rematch with Wladimir Klitschko.

Fury, 27, upset Klitschko to claim the WBA, IBF and WBO titles in November and is due to take on the Ukrainian in a rematch in May or June.

"If he wins, I'm willing to go there to take the titles," Wilder said.

Wilder retained his WBC heavyweight title in Brooklyn this month by beating Artur Szpilka, and was confronted by Fury in the ring.

"When he got in the ring I told him I'll come to his backyard, and I mean that," added Wilder.

    'I don't hold any grudges'published at 08:48 Greenwich Mean Time 5 February 2016

    Football

Bournemouth play Arsenal on Sunday and that will see the Cherries striker Benik Afobe play his former side.

The 22-year-old never featured for the Gunners and was loaned to six clubs before a permanent move to Wolverhampton Wanderers a year ago was followed by his January switch to Bournemouth as he returned to the top flight.

"They (Arsenal) have been massively responsible because I was there from when I was six. They've played a big part in the way I play football and helped me progress as a player," said the England under-21 international.

"Of all the clubs I've been at, Arsenal have banged on more than any of the others about having good technique so that's what I've taken from them. But on Sunday I've got a job to do for my club and there will be no friends.

"I don't hold any grudges ... I've got nothing to prove to Arsenal. I would've liked to have got my chance but it didn't happen. Not everything can go your way."

Cherries on targetpublished at 08:40 Greenwich Mean Time 5 February 2016

    Football

Bournemouth beat Crystal Palace, who can't in the league at the moment, to move 15th in the top flight and seven points above the drop zone with 28 points.

"In the league, it's dangerous to set targets of, say, 40 points. We do have some aims & we are on target for those," says manager Eddie Howe.

"It's been important that we've become harder to beat. We've been resilient and that's full credit to the players."

Today is going to be a busy one when it comes to Premier League managerial news conferences and Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe has got his in early, very early.

The club's only signing on transfer deadline day was defender Rhoys Wiggins and Howe says: "Deadline day was quite quiet, we got most of our work done early, so there was no rush at the end."

Another Chinese Super League recordpublished at 08:12 Greenwich Mean Time 5 February 2016

    Football

Talking about the Chinese Super League, no sooner had we had time to sit down today than we discovered that Shakhtar Donetsk have agreed to sell Alex Teixeira to Jiangsu Suning for 50m euros (£38.4m).

The Brazil midfielder, who was a target for Premier League side Liverpool, joins former Chelsea midfielder Ramires and ex-Atletico Madrid forward Jackson Martinez in the Chinese Super League.

The fee for Teixeria, 26, sets a new transfer record in China, eclipsing the £31m for Martinez earlier this week.

It is the third time the record has been broken in the last 10 days as Super League clubs spend big before their transfer deadline shuts on 26 February.
