    Aston Villa say they will be taking no action against striker Gabriel Agbonlahor, whom they had suspended pending the outcome of an internal investigation into his conduct.

    The forward was pictured appearing to hold a shisha pipe, external while on holiday in Dubai during the international break.

    Caretaker boss Eric Black had said he took the decision to remove Agbonlahor from the squad because he did not want anything to "distract the players".

    Hope Powell becomes the first female coach educator to work with the Professional Footballers' Association.

    Powell, who became the first woman to achieve the Uefa Pro Licence in 2003, scored 35 goals in 65 caps for England and managed them from 1998 to 2013.

    "I am keen to help develop the next generation of coaches in this country," said the 49-year-old, who also managed Great Britain at the 2012 Olympics.

    "It's a great opportunity to work within the men's professional game."

    Josh Reynolds has played down an incident in which he touched the bottom of an opposition player in a National Rugby League game in Australia.

    The Canterbury Bulldogs stand-off was criticised, external in Australian media after touching Aidan Sezer as the Canberra Raiders half-back fed a scrum.

    "We're good mates and it was just a bit of a joke. I hope no harm done," Reynolds said.

    Sezer confirmed they "go back a long way and we were just having a laugh".

    The 2014 winner Pineau De Re needs six late withdrawals to make the cut for Saturday's Grand National at Aintree.

    A final order of elimination for the £1m race, which has a maximum of 40 runners, was announced on Tuesday.

    Lower-rated horses are balloted out, with The Romford Pele currently occupying the number 40 slot.

    As it stands Bishops Road (41), Knock House, Perfect Candidate and Maggio (44) will be the four reserves for the race, with Pineau De Re at 46.

    Almost right, Mark. Shilts was actually 47 when he finally bowed out at the end of the 1996-97 season after a career featuring 1,005 league games that began in 1966. 

    He made his debut before the 1966 World Cup and retired after Euro '96. Just astonishing.

    A new experience for Manchester City today - training before a Champions League quarter-final against Paris St-Germain.

    City have reached the last eight of the competition for the first time with the first leg in Paris on Wednesday.

    And manager Manuel Pellegrini has opted to spend the first part of the build-up at home, meaning the required 15 minutes of open training is taking place in Manchester, with the normal press conference for manager and player - believed to be Eliaquim Mangala - scheduled for the Parc des Princes when City arrive in Paris this evening.

    Versatile Scarlets back Jordan Williams will join Bristol on a two-year contract at the end of the 2015-16 season.

    The versatile 22-year-old has scored 81 points in 54 appearances with the Welsh region.

    "Bristol Rugby have a great reputation," he continued. "I'd heard lots of positive things about the club before joining."

    Signed on a free transfer from Coventry City in 2000 aged 35, Gary McAllister was superb for Liverpool, helping the Reds to a treble of League Cup, FA Cup and Uefa Cup in his first season at Anfield.

    For good measure, he was also a major influence on a then 20-year-old midfielder called Steven Gerrard.

    What value for no money he provided.

    That, pretty much, is Anthony Joshua's message for Tyson Fury. WBA and WBO champion Fury had called fellow Briton Joshua, 26, "useless" and said boxing was not just about "bodybuilding".

    Fury also predicted Joshua would be "knocked out" on Saturday by defending champion Charles Martin when they fight for the IBF title Fury was stripped of.

    "They're hating on my beach body," said Olympic champion Joshua.

    In 1922, former England and Preston forward Sir Tom Finney was born. What a player he was. 

    Finney was capped 76 times and knighted in 1998. He died on February 14, 2014.

    Bath's David Wilson has been cited for making contact with the eyes or eye area of Saracens and England lock George Kruis, who in turn is alleged to have bitten the prop.

    Wilson, 30, allegedly made illegal contact with Kruis in the second half of his side's 30-10 defeat on Friday.

    Kruis, 26, has been cited for biting Wilson during the same incident.

    The pair, who were both in England's 2015 World Cup squad, will face a Rugby Football Union panel on Tuesday.
