No, Zlatan Ibrahimovic is not heading to Victoria Park but Grimsby Town's Padraig Amond is.

The striker, 28, scored 37 goals at Blundell Park last year as The Mariners secured promotion back to the Football League.

“For us to attract someone like him, who scored over 30 goals in the league below, is a coup for the Club,” Pools manager Craig Hignett told the club's website., external

Stokes absence is a blow - Morganpublished at 14:52

    Cricket

More from England ODI captain Eoin Morgan ahead of the series against Sri Lanka...

On all-rounder Ben Stokes being out: "It does affect us because Ben bats at five, doing both roles very well. We don't have an answer to back-up at the moment, but it does create an opportunity for someone else.

"I can't tell you the make-up of the side at the moment. The wicket is still under cover and may have a little more moisture in it than we think, so that might sway the decision."

    Cricket

England one-day captain Eoin Morgan has been facing the media ahead of the opening one-day international against Sri Lanka at Trent Bridge on Tuesday.

Alastair Cook's team won the Test series 2-0 and now it's up to Morgan's side to clinch the ODI series and the Super Series.

Here's what he had to say: "The Test boys have been exceptional and made it incredibly difficult for Sri Lanka.

"It's an unbelievable start. Cookie hands the baton over to me and hopefully I don't let him down."

Shahbaz Taseer was seized by gunmen in Lahore in August 2011, months after his father Salman was killed for opposing Pakistan's blasphemy laws.

He endured immense suffering and torture during his time as a hostage, but it didn't take away his motivation to keep "living" against all the odds.

A radio tuned to BBC Sportsworld allowed him to listen to the commentaries of his favourite football club Manchester United. "The radio changed everything for me, it kept me sane."

Manchester United sent Shahbaz a signed football jersey after hearing his story, which you can listen to here.

Ched Evans, who faces a retrial over rape allegations in October, is set to join League One side Chesterfield, BBC Sport understands.

Former Wales striker Evans was jailed in 2012 for raping a 19-year-old woman, but had his conviction quashed by the Court of Appeal in April.

The 27-year-old, who has always denied the charges against him, was released from jail in October 2014 after serving half of a five-year sentence.

His last professional game was in 2012.

Johanna Konta has returned to her home town of Eastbourne 12 months after her big breakthrough, when she beat Garbine Muguruza on her way to the quarter-finals.

Konta was then ranked 146th in the world - today she is the British number one and world number 18.

"On paper my ranking is definitely in a different place but in terms of myself, I’m very much the same person, with the same goals, same desires and same work ethic I put in every day," she told BBC Sport.

Coverage of the Aegon International gets under way on BBC Two at 13:00 BST on Tuesday.
