Manchester City should discover the full extent of Kevin de Bruyne's hamstring injury over the next 24 to 48 hours.

De Bruyne limped out of Saturday's win at Swansea and reports have already emerged saying the Belgium midfielder will be out for four weeks.

That would rule him out of the Champions League trip to Barcelona on 19 October, plus key Premier League games against Tottenham and Everton.

However, it is understood De Bruyne still has to complete his medical tests. Only when they are done will they know how long they will be without the Belgium international for.

City have started the season superbly under new manager Pep Guardiola, winning their first 10 games.

They will equal a club record 11 victories on the trot if they win at Celtic in the Champions League on Wednesday.
