TomWill LaudenTowns: Anyone else concerned with the distinct lack of loyalty Arsene is showing to one of our only clubmen?

Stefan Bulmer: City have loaned nasri, bony, and hart!!! Just says sooo much about their squad depth!

Duppy Connoisseur: Nasri might finally get the chance to regularly show some of the undoubted talent he has now.

  2. Not wanting Wilshere would be silly - Pardewpublished at 14:51

    Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace are one of the clubs battling for Jack Wilshere's signature, with Eagles boss Alan Pardew telling Sky Sports it would be "silly not to get involved" in trying to sign the Arsenal midfielder on loan.

    Full quotes to come shortly...

  3. 'Bony has potential for prolific returns'published at 14:49 British Summer Time 31 August 2016

    Bony to Stoke City

    Simon March
    Fantasy Football Champion

Wilfried Bony’s move to Stoke has the potential to shake up many a fantasy football front line.

Following his move to City in January 2015, Bony found starts hard to come by and this is probably reflected in his underwhelming tally of six goals for the Citizens. However, he managed 26 goals in the preceding season and a half at Swansea, underlining his potential for prolific returns.

Bony adds to a relatively small number of viable mid-priced forwards this season and, with a strong supporting cast including Marko Arnautovic, Bojan and Xherdan Shaqiri providing him with ammunition, Bony could emerge as the weapon of choice for many fantasy managers.

  4. Fabregas 'wants to stay at Chelsea'published at 14:47 British Summer Time 31 August 2016

    Italian Serie A

Max Evangelista, Italian journalist: “I’m following reports of Cesc Fabregas attracting interest from AC Milan on loan but I hear the problem is apparently that the player wants to stay at Chelsea.

"Also Jack Wilshere possibly from Arsenal to Roma – I hear Roma has made an offer to pay 80% of his wage for next season.

"Juventus could still be active for Blaise Matudi from Paris St-Germain.

"And Stevan Jovetic from Inter to AC Milan on loan is also on the agenda but I understand he really wants to go to Fiorentina.”

    Aston Villa

Earlier, we told you that Aston Villa had signed Middlesbrough winger Albert Adomah. Well, we didn't - Villa chairman Tony Xia did (see 13:06 entry).

The deal will go through but a few more 'i's need to be dotted, according to BBC Radio 5 live's chief football reporter Ian Dennis.

  8. Where is Hal Robson-Kanu?published at 14:37 British Summer Time 31 August 2016

Hal Robson-Kanu. Did very well at Euro 2016 for Wales but, surprisingly, he still hasn't got a club. Wondering what he is up to? Well he is currently training with the Wales squad and doesn't look to be stressed about his situation.

Here he is with Gareth Bale. Asking him to put a good word in at Real Madrid?

I thought Samir Nasri might have knuckled down and flourished under Pep Guardiola. There is definitely a decent player inside that 'overweight' body. Maybe we'll see it in Seville. As long as he stays off the gazpacho and chorizo diet.

  12. DONE DEAL - Atsu to Newcastlepublished at 14:30

    John Bennett
    BBC World Service

    Atsu

Ghana and Chelsea winger Christian Atsu has signed for Newcastle on a one year loan.

I understand that there is an option to buy if Newcastle get promoted.

The 24 year-old hasn’t made a first-team appearance for Chelsea but has had loan spells at Everton and Bournemouth.

He spent the second half of last season on loan with the La Liga club Malaga.

Atsu won the player of the tournament award at the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations.

  13. Arsenal playing hardball with Roma over Wilsherepublished at 14:28 British Summer Time 31 August 2016

You know talked about soap-style plots? Well there could be a few twists and turns in the Jack Wilshere to Roma storyline.

I'll let our reporter David Ornstein explain...

"For context, Arsenal were aggrieved by Roma's conduct in talks over a possible move by Arsenal for Roma defender Kostas Manolas earlier this summer," he says.

"So an agreement will not be easy. Still hope for Crystal Palace and Bournemouth."

  14. Newport County sign QPR forward Grego-Coxpublished at 14:26

Second loan signing of the day for Warren Feeney

Newport County have made their second signing of the day after completing a loan deal for QPR forward Reece Grego-Cox.

The 19-year old Republic of Ireland Under-21 international joins the League Two club until January.

Newport have also signed Scotland U19 defender Kyle Cameron today, on loan from Newcastle.

Munichwalker: @AVFCOfficial now looking a very strong team on paper. Let's hope they are as good on the pitch!

Tom Elliott: Bony is going to be a good signing for stoke. Not a bad little squad they've got there too

Tim Little: Bony to Stoke does rather beg the question as to what happens to Berahino at WBA?

  16. DONE DEAL - Accrington sign defender Vynerpublished at 14:21 British Summer Time 31 August 2016

Not quite as high-profile as Samir Nasri but of no less importance to Accrington Stanley supporters.

    Hart...gone.

    Bony...gone.

    Nasri...gone.

Only Eliaquim Mangala left then for Sgt Pep to kick out of his Lonely Hearts Band. That's £42m defender Mangala don't forget... One to watch today.

Nice one Gary. So what have we seen so far?

Manchester City have shipped out a couple of players on loan and there have been loads -(OK, quite a few) of moves in the Football League and Scottish Premiership.

What's this afternoon got in store? More drama and subplots then an hour-long special of Eastenders* hopefully.

    * That's not a promise...
