    South Africa are giving themselves about 30 minutes to have a pop at the Australia top order under lights in the third Test in Adelaide.

    Faf du Plessis (who else) scored an unbeaten 118 for the tourists as they amassed 259-9 in their first innings in the day-nighter.

    To add a bit of extra spice, David Warner - the Aussie opener - has been off the field and so cannot open for the home side.

    Richie Benaud, the "voice of cricket", has been honoured in Australia, with his image appearing on a 50 cent coin.

    The former Australian Test captain died last year aged 84, and cricket commentary has never been the same.

    The limited-run coin salutes his career on and off the field, and features iconic fan group "The Richies".

    It was conceived with the approval of Benaud's widow, Daphne.

    Isaiah was born with no legs, but it hasn't stopped him playing for Long Beach Gladiators, which he describes as "pretty easy."

    Football and rugby will join together this weekend to support a campaign helping to raise awareness of issues faced by lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) fans and players.

    The Rainbow Laces campaign aims to tackle homophobic, biphobic and transphobic attitudes in sport.

    Rainbow flags will feature at Premier League fixtures, while referees will wear rainbow-coloured laces.

    Wembley Arch will be lit up in rainbow colours, while top-level rugby matches in England and Wales will also support the campaign.

    Steven Gerrard was linked with the vacant managerial spot at MK Dons earlier in the week, but the ex-England captain has said the job came "too soon" for him.

    Gerrard spent 17 years at Liverpool but left the club in 2015, before moving stateside to join MLS side LA Galaxy.

    He has been linked with moves to Celtic and Newcastle United, as well as a return to Anfield as a coach.

    He confirmed to BT Sport he had held talks about the job at MK Dons, describing it as "a very exciting job for someone else."

    Arsenal do not need to panic, according to manager Arsene Wenger, after their 2-2 draw with Paris St-Germain.

    The Gunners are unbeaten in 18 games, but the result was their third successive draw in all competitions.

    "Sometimes you go through spells when you win a bit less," Wenger said.

    "We have a special strength in the squad, a consistency in results, but we have to continue without losing and transform draws into wins."

    Fancy a little insight into the Liverpool tactics of Jurgen Klopp. Nathaniel Clyne has been telling the club's official website, external how the role of full-back has changed and the way his German boss likes to deploy both Clyne and James Milner.

    "They want you to get up and down the line very quickly and also help out in attack, almost becoming wingers really," said Clyne. "Nowadays, wingers are coming inside and want to play more inside. It gives license to the full-back to have the whole line."  

    I think he's basically saying that you've got to hold and give but do it at the right time, you can be slow or fast but you must get to the line...

    Barton swapped Burnley for Rangers in May, but he had his contract with the side terminated in November after just eight games.

    And according to manager Sean Dyche, Barton is training with the club, but not the first team,  to "get himself fit."

    Children's charity the NSPCC has launched a football hotline after four ex-players spoke publicly about being sexually abused by coaches as children.

    Former Manchester City player David White, ex-Crewe players Andy Woodward and Steve Walters, and ex-Tottenham forward Paul Stewart have spoken out.

    The dedicated NSPCC hotline is supported by the Football Association.

    "There must be no hiding place for sexual abuse in our national game," NSPCC chief Peter Wanless said.

    "There may be many others who suffered through such horrors as young players but have never come forward."

    The hotline will be available 24 hours a day on 0800 023 2642.

    Former Liverpool defender Mark Lawrenson can't believe that Mark King forgot his snooker cue after the interval at the UK Championships.

    "How can you forget your cue? It’s like a footballer not putting his boots on," Lawro said.

    King was docked a frame for his mistake, and went on to suffer a 6-2 first-round defeat to fellow Englishman Sam Craigie.

    Besiktas recovered from 3-0 down at half-time to draw 3-3 against Benfica in Group B, thanks to a show of solidarity from their fans.

    Besiktas fans, who have previously broken the decibel record for the loudest crowd at a football match, took part in a silent celebration in support of the hearing and speech impaired, as well as a stand against racism.

    Fans were encouraged via social media, external to use sign language to show support for their team at kick-off.
