Murray Tweed on Facebook: Andy Murray by any sporting measure: resolute competitiveness; pure grafting at his trade; precise honing of his skills; genuinely humble and aware of the bigger things in life; and a lesson to several generations of how to be brilliant and inspiring no matter how many times you come 2nd best - Just keep going. They're all deserving of accolades and praise of course, but there's only one on that list who has worked to overcome the greatest in the sports history and likely won't be another to match him in a long long time (hoping to be proven wrong).

Simon Riley on Facebook: Andy Murray. Wimbledon Champion again, Olympic Champion again (1st player to win it twice), 9 tournament wins including the ATP Tour title, 24 match unbeaten run, 3 of the 4 major finals and world no.1 - he's been utterly phenomenal and there can be no other winner for me.

Jen McDonald on Facebook: If anyone other than Andy Murray wins it makes no sense. It's a shame for the others but his achievements are in another league. Yes he won last year, but you can't penalise him for that. Remember when the likes of Rusedski won for losing in the final of the US Open? It's amazing we have all these great sportspeople now. Congrats to them all!

He says his England's players need a break after the third Test defeat by India.

"We will get away, see some different scenery and come back for the last two Tests," Cook told BBC Sport.

"I genuinely believe if we put a better standard of performance in we can put India under pressure, we just haven't done it yet."

Middlesbrough manager Aitor Karanka believes Alvaro Negredo's double in Saturday's 2-2 Premier League draw with Leicester can kick-start a run of goals.

Negredo, 31, ended an 11-game run without scoring to earn Boro a point against the champions - his first since the opening day draw with Stoke.

"He will score more goals for sure," Karanka told BBC Tees.

"I know how important he is, how good he is and I knew he would score. Strikers need goals for confidence."
