Volunteer boxing coach Michael Harris took over the running of the Double Jab boxing club in Lewisham two years ago and - aged just 22 - has won this year's BBC Unsung Hero award for London.

In an area troubled by gang violence and knife crime, he has helped 19 youngsters with minor criminal records to get into steady employment.

And by offering training and facilities to more than 250 people who use the gym every week, he continues to provide a safe space for young people to channel their energy away from the street.

Fifa’s president Gianni Infantino is understood to be in favour of expanding the World Cup to 48 teams.

Fifa sources have told the BBC his preferred option for expanding the tournament is to now have 16 groups of 3 teams each.

The top two teams would qualify into a knock-out round of 32. The tournament would then proceed entirely on a knock-out basis.

Sources close to Fifa president have told the BBC he believes this format “shares the World Cup experience with the world” and offers more countries a chance to compete at football’s flagship event.

A final decision will be made at a meeting of Fifa’s Council in early January in Zurich.

  5. The Champions League is like being asked on a date by Cindy Crawfordpublished at 16:32 Greenwich Mean Time 7 December 2016

FC Porto v Leicester City (19:45 GMT)

    Ian Stringer
    BBC Radio Leicester Foxes commentator

I've never experienced the changes in emotions following Leicester City in one season.

In the defeat at Sunderland, the Foxes simply weren't at it. Alan Shearer criticised the lack of effort in the team and I have to agree. It's been noticeable from day one in the loss at Hull that Claudio Ranieri's men aren't as 'in your face' as they were last term.

They're not clicking, creating or charging on opponents as they did six months ago when they created the most incredible sport story ever.

Troy Deeney recently claimed this of his Watford team: "When we played them, in November, we did things a bit differently and decided to start by going at them." Can't argue with that - the champions have been sussed out.

The Champions League, though, is like being asked on a date by Cindy Crawford. You know it's not a long-term thing, it's a novelty, you want to impress and forget about all those domestic chores that need doing to go and have some fun.

Well, that's what I'd imagine a date with Cindy Crawford would be like anyway (dear Cindy, we do a lovely cheese cob in Leicester, call me).

Hodgson open to management returnpublished at 15:48 Greenwich Mean Time 7 December 2016

Former England boss Roy Hodgson wants to return to management.

The 69-year-old has not worked since leaving his England job after their Euro 2016 exit to Iceland.

"You do become a bit wiser with the years and you perhaps make a few less mistakes with dealing with players that you would have made when you were young, thought you knew it all and thought that you were invincible," he told Sky Sports.

"I certainly don't feel that I couldn't handle the day-to-day work and pressures.

"I just have to wait and see what comes along. I've not been in any particular rush.

London Welsh are seeking voluntary liquidation.

The club are fifth in their second season back in the Championship following relegation.

“In the new year, it is the hope and intention of the board that London Welsh will be able to return to playing at Old Deer Park.

"However it will first be necessary to change the Club’s business model to a semi-professional set-up and form a new company, and then raise £300,000 so that the club can regain a position within the Championship."

Minnows could play Hibs tie at Heartspublished at 15:02 Greenwich Mean Time 7 December 2016

Bonnyrigg Rose chairman Charlie Kirkwood hopes the club can play their Scottish Cup fourth round tie against Hibernian at the home of Hearts.

"Three quarters of the team are Hearts fans - they're buzzing for the thought of playing Hibs at their holy ground of Tynecastle," said Kirkwood.
