'Of course I enjoyed it'published at 11:57 Greenwich Mean Time 7 December 2016

Celtic winger Patrick Roberts says he enjoyed his goal against his parent club Manchester City in the Champions League.

The 19-year-old, who opened the scoring in the 1-1 draw, only made three substitute appearances for City following his move from Fulham.

"That was the plan and it went quite well," he said. "Of course I enjoyed it, it's not every day you score in the Champions League against a team like that.

"It was very pleasing, I had lots of family at the game so it was good.

"That's why I came to Celtic, to play in games like this, the opportunity to play in the Champions League, that was the main goal."

City boss Pep Guardiola said: "He has potential. I am so happy with his performance.

"We are going to talk about his future at the end of the season. We know his quality but the decision is not about one game. It is for one season."

Crystal Palace chairman Steve Parish has assured under-pressure manager Alan Pardew that his job is secure and said he was a "positive force" at the club.

The south London side's 3-0 home win over Southampton on Saturday helped them stay three points clear of the relegation zone after six league defeats in a row.

"Alan has a 41% win record at Palace which is pretty astonishing," Parish told Talksport., external

"It's totally safe (Pardew's job) in that every manager is under pressure. It's a binary industry and you have to win football matches."

Former Swansea City manager Michael Laudrup has denied he was sacked because of concerns he and his agent stood to profit from player transfers.

Danish newspaper Politiken claims it has seen documents suggesting Laudrup's agent, Bayram Tutumlu, could have made more than £3m during the Dane's reign.

It claims Swansea accused the two of trying to "benefit from transactions at the expense of the club".

However, chairman Huw Jenkins said he sacked Laudrup for "football reasons".

Laudrup told BBC Wales Sport: "I have never received any payment or commission related to any player transfer in any of the clubs I have coached. Never."

Dismissals could come to cricketpublished at 10:02 Greenwich Mean Time 7 December 2016

      Cricket

Cricketers could be sent off for the first time, after the MCC world cricket committee recommended that umpires be given the power to eject players for serious disciplinary breaches.

A statement read: "Subject to approval by the main MCC committee, the new code of the laws of cricket will include a stipulation that umpires can remove a player from the field for the following:

      • threatening an umpire
      • physically assaulting another player, umpire, official or spectator
      • any other act of violence on the field of play

It added that under current rules "a batsman could wilfully hit a member of the fielding side with their bat, before carrying on to score a century to win the match for their team".
