'We can't know where Celtic are going'published at 14:43 Greenwich Mean Time 7 December 2016

    Tom English
    BBC Sport Scotland

Even if Nostradamus came back from the dead and applied all his psychic powers in the football world the chances are that he would hold up his hands and admit defeat if asked to forecast what lays ahead of Celtic in Europe under Brendan Rodgers.

We know that the Celtic of September in Barcelona is not the Celtic of December in Manchester, we know that as a team they have gained confidence, if not a lot of points, in a very short space of time in Europe's pre-eminent club competition.

Dereck Chisora picked up and threw a desk as his pre-fight news conference with Dillian Whyte ended in chaos and farce.

The bad blood between the pair had already been evident throughout a 20-minute media session at a Manchester hotel as both fighters traded insults and swore repeatedly.

Chisora eventually lost his temper and threw the top table off the ground, sparking scuffles involving various people in attendance, including security staff.

The two fighters are due to meet in the ring in a British heavyweight title fight and WBC eliminator on the undercard to Saturday's clash between Anthony Joshua and Eric Molina in Manchester.

  3. Chairman Jenkins accepts blame for Swansea demisepublished at 14:31 Greenwich Mean Time 7 December 2016

    Dafydd Pritchard
    BBC Sport Wales

Swansea City chairman Huw Jenkins says he takes responsibility for the club's demise which has left them bottom of the Premier League.

The turmoil has been reflected off the field, with Bob Bradley becoming the Swans' fourth manager in three years.

Fans have turned on Jenkins and the board, accusing them of greed after selling most of their shares in July's American takeover.

"I fully understand their feelings, being a supporter myself," he said.

"When things don't go well somebody has to take the blame and I fully accept the responsibility.

'We will have a selection headache'published at 12:33 Greenwich Mean Time 7 December 2016

    Rugby Union

We have heard from Andy Farrell, who has been announced as one of head coach Warren Gatland's three assistants for the British and Irish Lions' 2017 New Zealand tour.

Farrell, 41, was one of Gatland's assistants during the Lions' 2-1 Test series victory over Australia in 2013 and is now Ireland's defence coach.

He said: "It’s a fantastic honour and privilege. I’m super excited, it’s a big challenge ahead and can’t wait to get going. You look at the autumn series, Scotland had a fantastic win against Argentina, Wales had their most successful time since 2002 and England are going great guns at the moment so northern hemisphere rugby is in a great place.

"We’re going to have a headache after the Six Nations because a lot of top players are going to be disappointed they are not going on the tour."
