    AC Milan vice president Adriano Galliani says his side "suffered a serious sporting disadvantage", after their flight to Qatar was cancelled on Tuesday.

    The Rossoneri play Juventus in the Italian Super Cup in Doha on Friday, but they were forced to postpone their trip by a day after their charter flight had technical problems.

    Juventus arrived on Tuesday and have already had a days training to acclimatise to the conditions.

    Germany's top two teams battle it out for the Christmas number one tonight.

    Bayern Munich and RB Leipzig are both level on 36 points. They have won 11 matches, drawn three and lost only one, with Bayern's goal difference of 26 seven better than Leipzig.

    Leipzig, founded in 2009 with backing from drinks firm Red Bull, have won four promotions in seven seasons.

    The match kicks off at Bayern's Allianz Arena at 19:00 GMT and is sure to be a Christmas cracker.

    South Africa captain Faf du Plessis has lost his appeal against his ball-tampering conviction.

    Du Plessis was found guilty in November after footage appeared to show the 32-year-old licking his finger and shining the ball while eating a sweet in the second Test against Australia.

    He was fined 100% of his match fee by the International Cricket Council.

    But he will be able to play in South Africa's Boxing Day Test against Sri Lanka as he will not face a match ban.

    Northampton winger George North should not have returned to the field of play, a concussion panel has concluded.

    North was injured in the 11th minute of the Premiership game between Leicester Tigers and Northampton on 3 December.

    The winger, 24, played on after landing on his head in the defeat.

    The Rugby Football Union said Northampton will not face any sanction over the handling of the injury.

    Cardiff Blues lock George Earle has been banned for eight weeks after making contact with the eyes of Bath's Tom Ellis in the European Challenge Cup.

    South African Earle made contact with the eye area of Bath flanker Tom Ellis in the second half of the 38-3 loss.

    His ban starts with missing their Pro12 home derby with Newport Gwent Dragons on Boxing Day.

    Blues head coach Danny Wilson had stated he believed the contact was accidental. Earle pleaded not guilty to the charge, but a disciplinary panel ruled he had committed the offence.

    Well, that is the situation facing Newport County tonight as they have a home FA Cup second-round replay against League Two leaders Plymouth Argyle.

    The winners of that tie will be playing at Anfield in the third round on 8 January.

    According to the South Wales Evening Post,, external the Ecuadorian winger, 27, is wanted to replace Robert Snodgrass.

    The 35-year-old has scored 16 goals since joining from Paris St-Germain in the summer.

    "We had already included that in the contract so it is not new for us and Manchester United. Both parties are very happy with that.

    Leicester City chairman Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha has criticised the referee for Jamie Vardy's sending off at Stoke on Saturday and also the Football Association for rejecting the club's appeal yesterday.

    In a statement released on the Thai billionaire's Instagram account,, external he said he was "sorry for the unfair judgement of the referee" and "more sorry that our appeal was rejected".

    He continued by saying: "this kind of judgement distorts the charm" of English football and that the incident made him "feel dispirit from football."

    Vardy will serve a three match ban following his red card last weekend - meaning he misses the Boxing Day clash with Everton, West Ham on New Year's Eve and the trip to Middlesbrough on 2 January.

    Dynamo Dresden defender Marc Wachs has received emergency surgery after a shooting that killed a family member.

    The 21-year-old German's injuries are not life-threatening, according to the Bundesliga 2 club.

    A second family member was also injured and is in hospital after the incident in Wiesbaden, near Frankfurt.

    The German club said they was "shocked, stunned and deeply saddened" and would "be wherever our help and support is needed".
