    'I'll give you a slap!'published at 13:51 Greenwich Mean Time 25 January 2017

Carl Frampton v Leo Santa Cruz

The fighting is still a few days away in Las Vegas, but the Frampton-Santa Cruz scrap has already given birth to another potential mega fight - Steve Bunce v Barry McGuigan, anyone?

The pair shared a joke on BBC Radio 5 live over the prospect of Belfast's WBA featherweight champion Carl Frampton (McGuigan's charge) taking on IBF title holder Lee Selby, should he win in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Boxing broadcaster Buncey says there's not enough money in it; McGuigan has other ideas. "I'll give you a slap!", he tells the big man. Something tells me a slap from The Clones Cyclone stings more than most people's punches...

Matthew Wright: I was involved in a match which had a black referee involved. About 70mins someone from the opposition spat and used a racist term towards him. We were shocked, outraged and very disgusted. The referee made the right call to abandon the game and call the police. If they strike, I will be disappointed but I will support.

Dave Francis: Without refs the game wouldn't work. Should show the same respect as they do in rugby - only the captains should be allowed to speak to the refs.

Last night, Brighton went back to the top of the Championship thanks to Tomer Hemed's winner against a determined Cardiff.

The match had been rearranged after the scheduled meeting on 30 December was postponed because of fog.

In the division's other game, Reading climbed back to third as Ali Al-Habsi saved a late Chris Martin penalty to secure a win against Fulham.

Roy Beerens had earlier put the hosts ahead just after half-time when he swept in the rebound from John Swift's saved spot-kick.

The perfect over...published at 13:10 Greenwich Mean Time 25 January 2017

There are only a few sports where you can measure perfection. The nine-dart finish. Snooker's 147. The perfect over.

So raise a glass to Aled Carey, who took six wickets in six deliveries for Golden Point Cricket Club in Australia - clean bowling the last three.

The two-day game against East Ballarat, which began on Saturday, will be concluded this weekend, with Golden Point strong favourites to win. Funny that...

In his news conference, Jose Mourinho was asked about his new grade-three-all-over haircut...

"It's a privilege (to have a full head of hair) because I'm the kind of guy that can do it and in a month I have a new look," he joked.

35% chance of winning the cup - Mourinhopublished at 12:54 Greenwich Mean Time 25 January 2017

Hull v Man Utd (Thu, 19:45 GMT)

Mourinho, asked whether Manchester United can go all the way and win the EFL Cup, replied: "I really don't know. I know that it's going to be hard. Let's see what happens. In this moment, we have a 35% chance to win the EFL Cup."

And on tomorrow's opponents, Hull: "They played the matches they won at home very well too. They played very well against Chelsea, too. So, I think they're in a good situation."

Manager Marco Silva gets some sugar too: "I knew that Marco was such a good coach that the team would really improve. He still has a very difficult job in hand, still a big fight with some other five, six, seven teams for relegation, but a good coach. Very good."

Mourinho also reveals defender Marcos Rojo is fit for tomorrow’s match after missing the game at Stoke through illness.

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho, asked how much former manager Sir Alex Ferguson has been involved with the club this season, replies: "Very little. Very little, to be honest.

"The support I feel is the support I always felt with him except when I was a direct competitor and playing against his teams but I always felt this kind of support.

"Friends wishing good to each other, supporting each other by a simple text, that can mean a lot in a certain moment.

"I think he’s very respectful too, because he doesn’t want to be around, to come too many times... I told him this is his house forever."

England manager Mark Sampson says he faces a selection "headache" for the SheBelieves Cup in March.

It follows a pre-season training camp in Spain where England lost 1-0 to Norway and drew 0-0 with Sweden.

"Some players on this camp have really put their hand up," Sampson told BBC Sport. "Competition is fierce and I want the players to push each other".

England will face the three top-ranked teams in the world - USA, Germany and France - at the tournament in the US.

Nobody will break Rooney record - Ferguson

Former Manchester United boss Alex Ferguson says he does not think anybody will break Wayne Rooney's United scoring record of 250 goals.

"In the present-day game, it is difficult to see any club having players who can stay with them for 10 years," said the Scot who signed Rooney from Everton.

"Bobby Charlton's record was quite substantial. I couldn't think anybody would beat that. It is an achievement par excellence."
