Manchester United announce their second quarter financial results at 12:00 GMT.

Amongst the huge number of figures, it will be interesting to see whether midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger is written back into their squad for financial purposes.

The 32-year-old was written out of them in September, when it appeared he had no future at Old Trafford.

But after being allowed to train with the first-team again in October, he played for the first time as a late substitute against West Ham on 30 November.

Since then, he has played twice more, in the FA Cup wins against Reading and Wigan, when he started and scored.

It is not expected Schweinsteiger will still be at United at the start of next season.

Fed Cup: Konta 6-2 6-3 Ostapenko (GB beat Latvia 2-0)

"We knew coming in today that Latvia was going to be a strong team. It's never easy and a lot of players raise their level in Fed Cup.

"The scoreline doesn't suggest it was as difficult as it felt.

"I'm really enjoying it. I didn't get the chance to play it last year so from the very beginning of the season I was clear that I wanted it to be part of my schedule.

"The Olympics was one of the best experiences of my life so whenever I get the opportunity to represent Great Britain in a team environment I take it."

"Tambourine, maracas or a drum. We're basically a band on the bench."

Multi-talented GB team, clearly. Could they release a hit?

Mauricio Pochettino insists his Tottenham team are not the sole challengers to Chelsea this term.

Spurs are nine points behind the leaders but only a point ahead of third-placed Manchester City and two clear of rivals Arsenal.

"A lot of teams are contenders," Pochettino says. "There are a lot of games ahead, it's true Chelsea take a massive gap - nine points is a massive gap - but there is time."

    How would you reform football?

The FA will be at Parliament later on to discuss whether English football's governing body needs to reform. Today, we're asking you how you would reform football? Here are some more suggestions.

John Hammond: Get rid of all the old grey men in suits and replace them with people who have played the game.

Mark: Monetary controls - ticket prices, stadium access for disabled, support women's football more, kick-off times guaranteed.

Rick: By getting past players, referees and coaches to run the game. To allow people who know and love football, to run the sports.

QPR on track for new stadiumpublished at 10:51 Greenwich Mean Time 9 February 2017

    Football

    Simon Stone
    BBC Sport

Championship side Queens Park Rangers have held informal discussions with their local council about the possibility of building a new stadium on the site of the Linford Christie athletics track in west London.

QPR have been looking for a site for a new ground for a number of years, having decided their 18,439-capacity Loftus Road stadium is not big enough for their needs.

The club had hoped to build at Old Oak Common, but those plans have stalled.

Now they have spoken to Hammersmith and Fulham council, who operate the Linford Christie Stadium, named after the most famous member of the Thames Valley Harriers athletics club, who currently use it.

Should discussions results in formal plans being submitted, it is envisaged a smaller stadium, adjacent to the main one, would become the new home to the Thames Valley Harriers athletics club.

Unlike West Ham’s situation at the London Stadium, there would be no athletics track around the football ground.

Great Britain beat Latviapublished at 10:48 Greenwich Mean Time 9 February 2017

Fed Cup: Konta 6-2 6-3 Ostapenko (GB beat Latvia 2-0)

    And it's all over!

Konta gets a comfortable win over Jelena Ostapenko to give GB victory a 2-0 over Latvia.

Heather Watson's earlier win against Diana Marcinkevica sees Great Britain win their second tie of the week.

    But they can't celebrate...yet.

Laura Robson and Jocelyn Rae must play yet another dead rubber in the doubles next, before GB take on Turkey tomorrow.

Victory in that tie would see GB finish top of the group and qualify for Saturday's promotion play-offs. (where they would play the winner of Pool B)

What matters is results, not opinions - Wengerpublished at 10:18 Greenwich Mean Time 9 February 2017

Arsenal v Hull City (Saturday, 12:30 GMT)

Some more from Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger on those fans who want him to leave the club, with one supporter holding up a protest banner during the 3-1 loss to Chelsea last Saturday.

"What is important is we focus on the next game and do not give too much importance to one fan," says Wenger. "It's not me at stake, it's Arsenal Football Club. In a football club it is important you have different opinions, but we have to focus on what matters. What doesn't matter is opinions of people, what matters is results - we focus on results.

"We fight with teams that have invested more than we have. Ideally you want everybody to be happy but Arsenal is made of special strengths and that is to be united when it does not go as well.

"I'm always surprised when we lose as I expect to win when the game starts. We were a bit unlucky and the first goal was absolutely scandalous for me and that changed the game. The second and third goals, we can only look at ourselves and defensively we made some mistakes."
